Skate Story Looks Like a Real Work of Art, and It's Coming to PS5 in December 1

It’s really hard for indie games to stand out in the current climate.

There are just so many exceptional experiences out there already, a project needs a little secret sauce to get the attention it deserves.

Skate Story has that – it’s an adventure game where you control a demon made of glass. Your task – assigned by the devil, no less – is to skate to the moon and swallow it. Do that and you’ll be freed.

How many magic mushrooms did it take to dream up that premise, eh?

Here’s the full blurb, courtesy of solo developer Sam Eng:

“Ollie, kickflip, and grind your way through the ash and smoke of The Emptylands as you take on a seemingly impossible quest. Learn to master your weight and motion to conquer the weeping concrete. Savor the ritualistic beauty as you set your feet to pop a perfect kickflip.”

The game will feature an original soundtrack for New York artist Blood Cultures, as sampled in this new release date trailer.

And here’s the big news: it’s out on 8th December. Yes, it’s already been a ridiculously stacked period for new releases, but you’ve got time for one more before Christmas, eh?
