Silent Hill PS5

Bloober Team has announced that its remake of Silent Hill is now in the hands of one of its two main production teams, making it the main focus of the Polish developer's efforts alongside a second, unannounced project.

The update was shared in an investor discussion involving CEO Piotr Babieno and Vice President Karolina Nowak. In response to a question surrounding the studio's roadmap, management responded: "We have two first-party production teams, one of which is working on Silent Hill 1, and the other has begun work on a second project. The second-party team is currently working on five projects."

Clearly still early in development at the time, Bloober Team confirmed it is remaking the original Silent Hill game on PS1 in a teaser video simply featuring the name and its classic theme song. "We are currently working with Bloober Team on a remake of SILENT HILL, which was released for PlayStation in 1999," it said back in June.

Off the back of the excellent Silent Hill 2 remake and the well-received, recently released Silent Hill F, it's hoped that the newfound positivity surrounding the series will continue with it and Silent Hill: Townfall.

As for Cronos: The New Dawn, which Bloober Team put out last month, it's said the new IP's launch was a "huge success" and it's sold best on consoles. For now, there's no DLC or a sequel in active development, but the developer is "definitely thinking about developing" the IP in general.

It added in a separate response: "Cronos is our first major IP. The team that created it has already begun work on a new project, but we definitely plan to further develop this IP in the future, within various fields of exploitation. We have high hopes for it."

In our Cronos: The New Dawn PS5 review, we awarded the horror effort an 8/10 score and said: "In a lot of ways it's derivative, especially when it comes to how it plays and how it feels. However, Bloober has injected enough charm, curiosities, and weirdness into it to make it not only its own thing, but something almost endearing. With impeccable visuals, an entrancing score, and a captivatingly dark time-travelling mystery, Cronos: The New Dawn is a delectable piece of sci-fi horror."
