If you're tired of playing Fortnite solo, fear not: you'll never have to play alone again when the new Sidekicks join the fun.
Epic Games has announced Sidekicks for its evergreen free-to-play shooter, and they're essentially little animal companions that accompany you across various parts of the game.
They don't offer any gameplay advantage; think of them as a fancy new type of cosmetic.
Joining you in Battle Royale, LEGO Fortnite, and more, Sidekicks will earn their own XP and unlock cosmetic items for themselves while you play.
On 1st November 2025, the very first Sidekick — Peels the banana dog — will be part of the latest battle pass.
More will follow, with three more coming on 7th November, namely Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor.
Sidekicks are customisable, but only one time. As soon as you lock in their appearance, that's that — you can't change it any further.
What do you think of Fortnite's new Sidekicks? Will you bring along a companion while you blast away opponents? Tell us in the comments section below.

How much for these pets?
Now for the big question; will Nintendo sue?
Can your oppnents see your pets if so surely thats going to be make you easier to spot
@bindiana I think it's got to the point where "flexing" skins or whatnot is more important then playing the actual game....
@Blauwe_Chimay Peels is part of the next BP, the rest are unknown.
These feel like the evolution of the animated pet backblings from years back. I'm willing to bet they will be annoying as hell in-match and most people will turn them off because they will inevitably give away your location or block your line of site/bullets at extremely inopportune times, making them a simple cash grab and battlepass filler and literally nothing more.
Kids will love them, they'll sell a ton, but the hardcore players will loathe them and Epic will give up on the concept in a few seasons.
Another thing they can charge you for.
@DarkTron
I dont play Fortnite, I just want to know how much my youngest is going to spend on this.
They just had some K-Pop Demon Hunters mode - 3 people building houses and doing not much else - that let you have cute little flying sidekicks buzzing about your head. Only 1 at a time but they had a couple of dozen to choose from.
Do you have to catch them like Pokémon?
Only suckers play Fortnite with its mtx store full of tat.
Anyway, I'm off to play Skate.
I guess they will be as irrelevant as the kicks. As long as they are free in the battle pass I will try it, but don’t expect me buying one in the store.
