With the recent release of The Finals Season 8 – along with the Stockholm Grand Major – excitement for the game has been steadily brewing, and Embark doesn't plan on allowing it to simmer down anytime soon.

The Swedish studio has just announced a collaboration with the drink brand PXL to create a real OSPUZE 'Sour Core' drink, taking the fictional product from the virtual arena and placing it in your hands.

As fans of the live-service FPS will be aware, OSPUZE is an integral part of the virtual gameshow and its deep and dynamic world.

"OSPUZE was the first fake Sponsor we created for the world of THE FINALS," explains co-founder of Embark Studios Rob Runesson, highlighting the fictional brand's importance and meaning to the game right from the start.

"To be able to see it and taste it in the real world, working with a Swedish company, is a magical explosion of fiction meeting reality," Runesson adds. "We've been asked to create this since the early days of the game, and it's so exciting for all of us! The devs, the gamers, everyone!"

PXL, the Swedish beverage company responsible for this creation, also seems to have the community in mind. Mikael Hollsten, founder of PXL, had the following to say about the collab:

"This collaboration with Embark Studios feels like the ultimate validation of everything we stand for! We’re bringing a piece of a beloved virtual world and placing it into the hands of gamers.”

This isn't the first time that PXL has leveraged the world of video games to sell its products; it has also worked with other famous gaming brands, such as Final Fantasy and Sonic the Hedgehog.

This announcement comes only weeks after the release of The Finals Season 8, bringing along new weapons, map variants, cosmetics, and limited-time events currently rolling out across the many visually stunning arenas, from feudal Kyoto to futuristic cityscapes like SYS Horizon and Nozomi/Citadel.

Along with the new world tour event, Vertigo, that enables double jump for every contestant, a new map is set to release on the 2nd of October, brought to you by the in-game sponsor, Holtow Insurance.

We believe that The Finals is a hidden gem in the over-saturated FPS genre, and brings a fresh new take; if any of this interests you, be sure to download The Finals for free on PlayStation now – and check out our video on the game below.
