It might have taken an eternity for it to come out, but The Last Guardian is now approaching 10 years old. The PS4 title helped to define a generation for the hardcore PlayStation audience, and now you could spend a whopping $1,500 for a stunning statue of Trico and the boy to commemorate it.
Produced by Torch Torch, with Akishi Ueda sculpting and painting it, this is the "world's first large-scale" statue of the pair of main characters. It stands at 50cm tall, will be shipped in December 2026, and is available for reservation via the link.
As for Sony's involvement, artist Akishi Ueda said:
Once I actually started working on it, with the supervision of Gen Design and the support of Sony Interactive Entertainment, I really felt the amount of different people involved in this project, and at the same time, the pressure started to creep in... Normally when I create my own work, I create as I please with inspiration, so it's almost a solo play. I find a certain comfort in the solitude that comes with that, but when it comes to a licensed character, so many people are involved, and it was a pressure I'd never felt in my career before.
Here are some shots of the statue, which you can enlarge for a better view by clicking on them:
Developer genDESIGN and Famito Ueda have had "full supervision" during the creation of the statue, and they "send it to you with all our heart, hoping it will become someone's treasure. This is more than just a recreation of a character; we hope you enjoy this unparalleled commemorative piece of art." If you happen to be attending the Tokyo Game Show this week, you can see the statue in person at the Torch Torch booth.
The statue itself depicts Trico about to leap off a crumbling building, with the boy on top of its head. "The complex personality of Trico, including his mysticism as a giant beast, his fierce dynamism, and his adorableness, has been faithfully recreated in three dimensions," it's explained. The description page continues: "The color scheme, which meticulously designs the overall light and dark to make it seem as if there is a sun overhead, is a true testament to Akishi Ueda's skill."
If you're suddenly feeling nostalgic for the PS4 masterpiece, it's available to play on PS5 via backwards compatibility. If you wish to play it at 60 frames-per-second, though, you'll need a physical copy and must refuse to download any patches to access the 1.0 build.
