It doesn't come as a huge surprise, but there will be a second Trails in the Sky remake, following on from Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
Without spoiling anything, 1st Chapter features what is essentially a post-credits teaser for the sequel — and we've seen it for ourselves.
Said teaser briefly shows characters and events from Trails in the Sky SC — the second game in the Sky saga — but they've been remade in the full 3D engine of 1st Chapter.
There's also a suggestion here, based on what's shown in the teaser, that the sequel is already deep in development — and may actually release a lot sooner than people realise. After all, Trails in the Sky SC reuses a lot of assets from the first game, which would streamline development significantly.

We would assume that Falcom will have something official to say about all this once 1st Chapter is released. It's out in just a few days at the time of writing, on the 19th September, and we'll have a PS5 review going up very soon.
