Judas, the spiritual successor to BioShock with a rogue-like twist, has reappeared in a new PlayStation Blog post from creative director Ken Levine. In it, he shares the key art for the game (viewable above), as well as new gameplay details surrounding how the title's main villain is picked.
Levine reveals that in the game, your actions attract the attention of the Big 3. They start out as your friends, but if you ignore one of them for long enough, they turn against you and become the villain. "From there, they will get access to a new suite of powers to subvert your actions and goals. The clips below demonstrate just a little bit of the feature."
It sounds like Judas is specifically designed around one of the three characters becoming your enemy, as the decisions you make will either strengthen relationships or alienate others.
Levine continues: "We want losing one of them to feel like losing a friend. We want to play with that dynamic, and we want that choice to be super hard. The Big 3 are all going to be competing for your favor and attention. They can bribe you, save you in battle, talk shit about the other characters, and share with you their darkest secrets. But eventually, you’ve got to decide who you trust and who you don’t."
