Pragmata is, as far as we’re concerned, one of the more promising upcoming PS5 games.
The long-in-development shooter has a very unique gimmick, where you need to complete simple puzzles during combat in order to hack your enemies. This brings down their defences, making them more susceptible to your attacks.
But while we waxed lyrical about the gameplay in a recent hands on, it’s not something publisher Capcom has shown particularly well.

This stage demo recorded at ChinaJoy 2025 at least gives you a better idea of what to expect. It’s the same demo we played, and shows how you’ll be using your accomplice Diane to stagger your enemies and open them up to attack.
We’re sure there’s going to be a lot more to this game once it eventually drops, because even in the demo you can see how the dev is slowly beginning to layer different elements into the hacking minigame.
But hopefully this footage gives you a better reference for why we’re so excited about it.
