Nintendo Pictures, a subsidiary of the Japanese platform holder, is in the credits for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.
The company, which focuses on animation and other "visual content", is credited with regards to motion capture for Kojima Productions' acclaimed sequel.

So, it seems Nintendo sort of played a part in bringing the game to life, but what exactly is Nintendo Pictures and why is it involved in a Sony-published game?
Well, the history of the company is quite interesting. It began life as an independent operation and was formerly named Dynamo Pictures. It was Japan's first motion capture studio, though its main business was in CG animation and production.
While a separate entity, the company worked on all sorts of things for various clients, among them Nintendo, which acquired the business in 2022.
Before that, though, Dynamo helped out KojiPro on the original Death Stranding, again for motion capture.
It's very possible that some work was already complete, or an existing contract was already in place, before Nintendo bought up and rebranded the studio.
