Gears of War: Reloaded, the remaster of a remaster of the 2006 Xbox 360 exclusive, is coming to PS5, and it still feels a bit weird to say that.
Fans were able to play the game on a PlayStation for the very first time last weekend, but unfortunately, it didn't go down very well, mostly thanks to technical woes.
In response, the second beta weekend will be a little longer and will include more content.
Developer The Coalition has announced refreshed details about the upcoming beta test on its socials:
Open to those who have pre-ordered the game, the second beta weekend now runs from 20th June at 12pm PDT / 3pm EDT / 8pm BST to 22nd June at 9pm PDT / 12am EDT* / 5am BST*, extending the beta with an extra nine hours.
Also, as well as casual Team Deathmatch and competitive King of the Hill, players will also get to play competitive Execution mode.

The second beta weekend will include maps Gridlock, Raven Down, Gold Rush, Courtyard, War Machine, and Canals.
Hopefully the technical side of things will be improved the second go around.
Gears of War: Reloaded is scheduled to launch on 26th August 2025, so if you're not able to try out the beta, it's not too far off for the main release.
Are you excited for this one? Will you be playing the second beta this weekend? Tell us in the comments section below.
*Morning of 23rd June.

I played this for a bit and it has NOT aged well. I think PS5 players coming to this for the first time are in for a shock.
@get2sammyb no Johns. Get good.
I played this for a bit and it has aged well its just like it was back in the day.
Tried the beta but wasnt keen, got it to play through the campaign though 👍
@get2sammyb
Oh I strongly disagree. Aged like a fine wine in my eyes. Gears still has some of the best 3rd person shooter mechanics around. Had a blast with it!
Hopefully the technical problems will be sorted out for those that had problems. It ran like a dream for me thankfully. Looking forward to the next beta!
I enjoyed this on 360 back in the day, but it even then, it was quite forgettable when all's said and done.
@get2sammyb Exactly. Gears of War is not timeless.
Maybe I'm just jaded, but I don't own a PS5 to play Xbox 360 games.
Why this was prioritized over more recent Xbox titles like Halo Infinite is beyond me.
@MFTWrecks Because it the game and franchise 20th anniversary next year. So they are release this one this year and the new one next year.
@AverageGamer Okay? I bought a PS5 to play new games. Not 20 year old games that weren't all that great to begin with.
Why would anyone buy this? The entire series and DLC (or at least the first trilogy) packaged up to celebrate the birth of the series? You've got my attention. $40 for one of them? Not remotely close to appealing.
@MFTWrecks Well unfortunately, Sony are struggling to release one game per year.
@LazyLombax Expect pyramids with 🛸 above them
@TheArt but Gears of war 2 is though
Please please please, for the love of god please no multiplayer trophies, I beg. I’m not getting this if they keep the multiplayer trophies 😭 If they keep the damn achievements the same, bye bye all free time, say hi to 500hours online in this boring ass multiplayer… Don’t do this, I want to play the campaign so bad 😮💨
I preordered physical so didn't get the beta, but i'm in for the nostalgia! co-op campaign and mp fun - i don't mind if it's same as it was on 360 because it was bad ass.
As owner of the previous remaster I got a free code for Xbox and it seems this counts as preorder, so a I'm eligable for beta access.
I'm a little bit disappointed that it basically looks exactly the same than GoW:Ultimate, so I think I'll skip it initially and maybe get it on sale for the trophies later. Still weird times that one is able to play an Xbox flagship on PS5 though.
