Riders Republic PS5 PS4

Game-to-movie adaptations are proving so popular at the moment that Ubisoft even feels justified in turning its extreme sports title Riders Republic into one.

The project was confirmed as part of the French publisher's latest financial earnings call, where it was revealed the live-action film shall be directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, who recently did Bad Boys for Life. "Set on the snowy slopes of the Alps, the film will deliver non-stop thrills, humor, and spectacular stunts," said Ubisoft.

The company has a rather mixed history with film and television. The movie adaptation of Assassin's Creed from 2016 was awful, but the firm was attached to more successful TV shows like Mythic Quest and Side Quest.

Due to the focus on sports, we would like to think Ubisoft will be taking cues from Sony's own Gran Turismo film, which made its story more about an individual racer than simply driving around a track like in the game.
