Cyberpunk 2077's Highly Anticipated Sequel Has Entered Pre-Production 1

Work on the successor to Cyberpunk 2077 is officially underway, developer CD Projekt RED has confirmed.

The company announced the milestone as part of an investor relations presentation earlier today, adding that as of 30th April, around 96 of its 730 employees were focused on the new game.

Of course, the bulk of the Polish developer’s efforts are being poured into The Witcher 4, so it’s going to be a long time before you get to revisit Night City, and the series’ version of “Chicago gone wrong”, which was accidentally leaked by the franchise’s creator Mike Pondsmith recently.

But pre-production is an important milestone for Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, because while there’s still a lot of work to be done, it means the studio has settled on an overall direction for the game, and is now beginning to actually assemble it.
