After coming under heavy fire for the total shutdown of The Crew, publisher Ubisoft has released a new video update on its efforts to bring offline modes to The Crew 2 and The Crew Motorfest.

In it, producer Grégory Corgié explains the team's current progress and plans for the rest of 2025.

He says the team is focusing firstly on an offline mode for The Crew 2, with development "progressing smoothly", while The Crew Motorfest is still receiving regular post-launch support.

A hybrid mode will be released for The Crew 2 by the end of 2025, which will allow players to swap between online and offline play whenever they want.

The full-blown offline mode will come later, with Ubisoft Ivory Tower using the hybrid mode to perform tests and tweak things for offline play.

The Crew 2 will receive its offline mode first, and The Crew Motorfest will receive it later down the line.

Tests involving the community will begin later this month. While these will only be run on the PC version, the hybrid and offline modes will come to all platforms.
