It’s been a long road to the, er, Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road – but here we are! At last! Level-5’s legendary soccer RPG will make it PS5 and PS4 debut on 21st August.

The game will be available worldwide, but there’s a catch for physical fans: it’ll only be available digitally – even in its native Japan. On the positive side, there’ll be crossplay and cross-save across all versions of the game.

Of additional importance for PlayStation fans, if you purchase the PS4 version, you’ll get access to the PS5 edition for free, and vice versa.

If you’re playing on the Nintendo Switch, though, you’ll need to pay to upgrade to the Switch 2. (The game also costs more on Nintendo’s new console.)

The base game will cost $69.99/£57.99 on PS5 and PS4, but there will be a Deluxe Edition for $79.99/£65.99 featuring early access and a bunch of bonus in-game items, including goal celebrations and XP boosters. There’ll also be console-specific cosmetics available.

As for the game itself, well, it’s bursting with content. There’s a campaign set 25 years after the original Inazuma Eleven, but the primary selling point is the inclusion of over 5,200 players from across the franchise’s entire history.

You can check out a new trailer embedded above for a taste of what to expect. Remember, this is one of two Level-5 titles due out this year, with Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time also due out this summer.
