In DOOM: The Dark Ages, you won't just be mowing your way through hordes of Hell demons — you'll also be taking the fight to the newly unveiled Cosmic Realm.
A new trailer shows off a brand new area for the DOOM series, introducing a "cyclopean realm" filled with otherworldly monsters.
According to game director Hugo Martin, Hell and the Cosmic Realm have formed an "unholy union" that you'll learn more about as part of the story.
While exploring the Lovecraftian environment, you'll face new enemy types, such as the Cosmic Baron and a newly designed Cacodemon.
In addition to new enemies, the Cosmic Realm will introduce new weaponry, namely the Reaver Chainshot.
This unusual weapon sees you fire a mace attached to a chain that can then be recalled. You can fire it out quickly, or charge the shot for more power and range.
The PS Blog goes into a little more detail on all this, if you're interested in learning more.

This game is going to be REALLY fun.
I never expected Doom to go into lovecraftian stuff, but it fits really well.
Can't wait for this game.
Nice to see bethesda catering to the gamers who actually buy their games and don't wait to rent them....makes sense.
@lazarus11 Stip with the silly Console war stuff. For starters, actual developers don't care about that, they just like players. Either way, gamepass is still paying for the game, just in a different way, clearly it works for Xbox or they'd have stopped doing it by now.
Ultimately this is more a reminder for PlayStation fans who might think the game would be an Xbox exclusive given that Bethesda and ID Software are now a part of them.
@Lysterao I think developers care about people paying for their product.
@Lysterao console war? what are you talking about ,that's over now ms are multiplatform , the figures speak for themselves, clair obscur sold 500k copies, i guarantee you the high majority of those sales are on ps and pc, because xbox gamers rent their games, just a fact
@Lysterao I've got idea how much money gamepass is making, but I don't think they could 'just stop' even if they wanted to at this point. The Xbox brand is too deeply associated with it now. They'd probably need a completely new console rebrand to abandon it now.
@Lysterao If GamePass "clearly worked" for Microsoft, we wouldn't be seeing this (and lots of other) game(s) outside of the Xbox ecosystem, but here we are.
@GeeForce neil Armstrong was an astronaut , doesn't make me one though
"Also introducing, the Nail Gun!"
C'moooonnnnnn! There's no way they aren't doing the crossover right? RIGHT?!
