Stellar Blade Dev Offers an Early Look at Protagonist Eve's Prototype Character Model 1

It’s not often we get a look at early in-development footage for our favourite games, so this Stellar Blade clip warrants attention.

At just 30 seconds, it gives us a glimpse of an early version of protagonist Eve’s character model.

“This is what Eve looked like in the early days of development,” the Korean studio said. “There was a bit more animated exaggeration than there is now.”

We think what the studio means is that Eve initially was more of a cartoon character, with much larger anime-style eyes and simple facial features. To be fair, her face didn’t change a massive amount in the final version, but she does look a lot more realistic, with more natural hair and skin textures.

Eve was, of course, based on real-life model Shin Jae-eun, although only the Korean star’s body was scanned. As explained by director Hyung-Tae Kim, the character’s face was designed “in-house”.

After seeing the prototype model, some fans have been calling for it to be added to the game as one of Eve’s unlockable outfits. We do like it when developers add Easter eggs like this, so we wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.
