If you’re a collector of retro games, you’ll know it’s becoming increasingly difficult to get your hands on certain titles.
Ninja Five-O, a well-regarded GBA side-scroller from Konami, is one such title that’s pricey to buy these days. Cartridges do exist, but they cost $100s boxed, and that may well price many of you out.
The good news is that the title’s making a comeback on PS5 and PS4, with pre-orders available now ahead of the release’s 25th February launch. It’ll cost just $24.99.

“Ninja Five-O entrenches you into the epic and ruthless voyage of Joe Osugi, who is a detective and players become the Ninja Five-O,” the press release reads.
“Utilise a wide variety of masterful ninja skills to uphold justice by solving treacherous crimes such as bank heists and hijackings. Use unique Ninjutsu moves to protect the city of Zipangu and take down the evil Mad Mask bosses.”
In addition to perfect emulation of the original courtesy of the Carbon Engine, Konami is promising some quality-of-life improvements, such as the ability to rewind time and create save states at any moment. These are all pretty standard features for retro re-releases, but welcome ones nonetheless.
If you’re not familiar with this game, or simply want a nostalgia hit, you can check out a gameplay trailer embedded above. We’re definitely grabbing this one when it drops. You?

I will push my PS5 Pro to the brink of existence with this
"Just" $24.99. Good joke!
It looks good, but $25 is a little steep. When you stack it up against something like Shadow of the Ninja: Reborn for example, it's hard to justify. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad this exists and love the qol stuff to be included, but until it goes on sale I won't be picking it up. We also have the new Ninja Garden on the horizon, which I'm very excited about.
I might pick this up. I’m more excited for Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound this summer.
Probably fine, never heard of, seems ok. Other games I'd rather see revived instead.
