Update []:
It turns out there really is more Astro Bot levels and Special Bots on the way, as during a PlayStation Tournaments XP event, a new speedrun stage has been revealed. You can see it in action in the tweet below:
Original Story: It appears Team Asobi has more content planned for Astro Bot, but the evidence is sourced from a rather unlikely place: a jigsaw puzzle. Following his departure from PlayStation, Shuhei Yoshida has been sent a 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle of the PS5 ship featured in the game and lots of Special Bots surrounding it. Eagle-eyed users have now noticed the image shows a character that currently isn't in the game, suggesting they will at some point in the future.
At the top of the picture, just to the left of the Astro Bot logo, are two volcanoes. Next to them, you'll spot Kazuya from the Tekken series fighting Heihachi. Kazuya is a reward for completing Birdy Barrage, but Heihachi isn't in the game at all. The bot even features an updated character model over his design in Astro's Playroom, lending more weight to the idea he'll be bundled in with a future content update.

Since its release in September 2024, the platformer has been updated with five speedrun levels as well as a Christmas-themed level called Winter Wonder, all for free. With another Special Bot seemingly on the way, they'll need to be tied to another new level in some way. With a State of Play rumoured to take place next month, the announcement of this new Astro Bot content might not be too far out.

Has to throw him into the red hot memory modules.
Astro is love Astro is life
I would take new levels too because I'm greedy.
I just searched Birdy Barrage on YouTube and don't remember it. Strange because I spent hours on some of those levels 😭 I know, git gud 😂
I'm dreading the possible inclusion of more of them. I need to keep my 100% 😭
There's sadly not a chance in hell that Nintendo would allow Mario and Astro to mingle but surely Sega wouldn't mind a Sonic cameo?
@Brundleflies21 Would absolutely LOVE to see a Sonic cameo and whilst extremely unlikely I'd love to see at least Yugo and Alice from Bloody Roar. BR was a huge part of Playstation and Konami let numerous characters they own in Astro Bot
They just showed off a new speed run level in the Tournaments XP

Sony give me sly cooper and resistance.and square enix can you make a parasite eve remake.that would be incredible.word up son
@playstation1995 A Parasite eve remake would go so hard, it's not even funny.
@Oram77 Unfortunately Square don't own the rights they need to get permission to use the IP besides it's modern Square they'd only screw it up I'd rather they not touch it
@Keyblade-Dan wow so who own parasites eve.imagine bluepoint made a rogue galaxy remake.mind blowing.word up son
@playstation1995 A man named Hideaki Sena owns the IP, he is the original author of the novel Parasite Eve. Square Enix had to get his permission to create a game based off his novel, so technically an developer could create a Paradise Eve Remake aslong as they get permission.
@UltimateOtaku91. Square could of buy it.but i wonder if square enix care about parasite eve.a remake would of bedn incredible.word up son
@playstation1995 I’d rather get a port of parasite eve than a remake.
Astro Bot stuff is never enough.
They must have eagle eyes, i cant even spot it with directions
I'm sure game of the year status has pushed them into this direction I wonder what the sales r like now
@Drago201 probably 2-2.3 mil. Good numbers considering it is the first major non-tech demo game.
Are all of the people crapping all over Sony’s GaaS news the past week self aware enough to realize Astrobot is now a GaaS game? I’m going to guess not b/c they like Astrobot. 😝
@rjejr - It’s not really a GaaS game to be fair, just a game that’s had some bonus content released haphazardly afterwards. A GaaS is designed from the ground up to support a steady stream of content (usually with a road map), where the launch content is merely a starting point. Astro Bot doesn’t really have that: at best it has a minor GaaS component with the speed run levels, but those are clearly a bonus tacked on, as opposed to a core part of the game experience, as it is with games like Suicide Squad, or Destiny (and even then, from what I understand, most GaaS involve either a subscription or paid microtransactions, neither of which apply here).
So ultimately, when you see people dunking on some games for being GaaS, they’re dunking on games that are clearly unfinished on release, that have extensive monetised content drip-fed over the course of years, that abruptly end when it’s time to move on to the next thing. Astro Bot, on the other hand, has a complete story experience straight out of the box, with a few extra free bonus levels released afterwards. That’s it.
P.S. Oh, and a lot of GaaS games are multiplayer focused endeavors: Astro Bot is purely single-player.
@rjejr Are you drunk?
@FullMetalWesker Thank you. It's weird how some people think post-launch free DLC for a platformer who doesn't have pay DLC / season pass / MTX or even PvP / PvE means the game is GaaS 🙄
Just when I deleted my save game after 5 months thinking the Xmas level was the last content :’(
Cool, my son still plays this game every time he's at mine 💙
Ain't gonna lie, I loved the game when it came out but then just seemed to get bored of it... Can't remember when I last played it, and don't appear to be in no rush to get back to it either...
@Skeletor85 Hey think of it this way you now have an excuse to replay it ^__^
The speedrun levels were the weakest, but I'll be there for any new content. They should do a Mario Galaxy 2-style expansion with some new game-changing mechanics explored across multiple levels.
I’d take it! Love Astro
