Mascot Brawler MultiVersus Appears Poised to Make Its Big PS5, PS4 Comeback

MultiVersus was the biggest game in the world for about a week, before an iffy Battle Pass and tardy updates plunged its appeal, and prompted Player1stGames to unexpectedly pull the whole thing offline. The release was never meant to disappear entirely, of course, and the developer has been beavering away on some important updates behind-the-scenes. Now it appears it’s finally poised to return.

You may recall last month there were murmurs of a return owing to an unexpected McDonalds promo in Australia. Well, now the title’s official Twitter account has sprung back into life after almost a year’s absence (thanks, GreatSong1). “Testing, testing, 1, 2, 3,” is all it posted, but it’s significant when you consider the title’s previous message was published on 22nd June, 2023. We suspect this means some kind of revival announcement is imminent.

In fact, it could even happen during today’s Xbox Partner Preview, which is scheduled for later this evening and will feature 30 minutes of third-party announcements.
