Clues from McDonald's, Voice Actors, More Suggest MultiVersus May Soon Resurface 1

MultiVersus released back in 2022 as a public beta test, and it immediately proved popular. It was available to play for free for almost a year, but developer Player First Games took the beta down, promising the game would return in a more complete state in 2024. Now, a series of evidence has begun popping up, suggesting some news might be just around the corner.

The platform fighter is Warner Bros.' free-to-play riff on Super Smash Bros., featuring many well-known characters from the company's vast catalogue. This includes DC superheroes and villains like Batman, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn; Looney Tunes such as Bugs Bunny and Tasmanian Devil; Cartoon Network favourites Finn, Jake, and Steven Universe; and old favourites like Shaggy, Velma, and Tom & Jerry. Much of the beta was focused on finding a good balance for each combatant and their moves, but the game has been offline for months as the developer makes refinements.

Now, fans have discovered various clues that point to a potential re-announcement of the game. Most prominent is an official McDonald's webpage, which shows a series of upcoming cards featuring characters from MultiVersus. In addition, one person snapped these McDonald's promotional goods, the Steam page has been updated as recently as today, and one of the game's voice actors, Daniel Ross, is teasing something MultiVersus-related.

All this stuff suggests we might get an update on the game at the very least in the near future. It was always planned to make a comeback this year, so we can't say this is too surprising, but it appears as though we'll be hearing something soon.
