The anticipated Closed Beta Test — CBT for short — for Tekken 8 is now live on PS5. As the 'Closed' part of the name suggests, you're only getting into this one if you registered for a code — and then actually got chosen as a participant. Or, if you were already part of the Closed Network Test earlier in the year, you'll be able to join this beta automatically by booting that old client up (and making sure it's updated).
This test includes an impressive 19 playable characters: Jin, Kazuya, Jun, Paul, Law, King, Lars, Jack-8, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Lili, Asuka, Hwoarang, Bryan, Claudio, Azucena, Raven, and Feng Wei. Six stages will be available to play on as well, and you'll be able to hang out in the new avatar-based player lobbies. You can even try out the new Super Ghost Battles, which let you fight against AI-driven 'ghosts' of other players in order to hone your skills — all while your own ghost learns from your style of play.
The CBT runs until the 23rd October, so you've got a full weekend to get stuck in (if you're not losing your mind over Marvel's Spider-Man 2, that is). Will you be taking part in this beta? Show some scrubs who's boss in the comments section below.

I managed to get into the beta so will be playing this weekend, when not playing Spiderman 2 which I have not started yet 😞

I got the code but have no way to redeem it. There is no beta version in the ps store showing up.
@TheRickestRick Forgive if I'm explaining the obvious but you should go to the store (not Tekken page, just anywhere in the store) and select "redeem code" from the menu in upper right.
You can also do this in the mobile app.
I had no problem redeeming mine but it was during the previous run ("Closed Network Test") so I could just redownload it now.
I tried in the app, the website, and on my console. Keep getting the message, "The voucher code is incorrect or is no longer valid."
I will be playing the beta all weekend as soon as I get home. Only 55 minutes left before I can leave work🤣🤣
Have fun guys. I was beaten up hardly today in the morning and I'm pretty good at Tekken. I'm not sure if was fighting hardcore Tekken freaks or developers, but I didn't win a single match, which is not normal 😅
But nether the less, this game is a gem already.
