Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 PlayStation

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released on Friday, and no doubt many players spent the weekend blissfully swinging through the streets of New York City. Others, specifically players who picked up physical editions, ran into issues attempting to install the game to their PS5 from that shiny, hopeful disk.

A thread on Reddit chronicling the issue swiftly popped up, with another mirroring it on ResetEra (thanks, IGN). It's hard to say how widespread the issue is, as most of the players affected appear to be in Europe. Still, the story seems to be the same: The progress bar peters out (pardon the pun) at precisely 36% during installation.

Users have tried reinstallation, disconnecting their PS5s from the internet and, installing offline, even hard resetting the console, but to no avail. One Redditor claimed to get the same results after picking up a new disk at GameStop, which suggests that this could be a batch issue, but that's purely speculation on our part.

Neither PlayStation nor developer Insomniac Games has yet to comment on the problem, but IGN has reached out for a response. We'll update this page once we learn more. Did you pick up a physical copy of Marvel's Spider-Man 2? How was the installation process? Clamber on down into the comments section below.
