Need for Speed: Most Wanted PS2

A remake of Need for Speed: Most Wanted looks to have been publicly outed ahead of any official announcement from EA, if a now-deleted tweet is to be believed. Simone Bailly, who plays Sgt. Cross' partner in the original title, said: "Need for Speed: Most Wanted Remake is being released in 2024, LIKE & comment if you want to see Cross (Dean McKenzie) & his partner (Simone Bailly) hunt down the most wanted." Bailly has now removed the post, but her Twitter likes reveal the responses she interacted with.

While there are actually two games that go by the name Need for Speed: Most Wanted โ€” the first launched in 2005 on PS2 and another came out in 2012 on PS3 โ€” it's the first title Bailly will be referring to here as she didn't star in the PS3 version. The one seemingly getting a remake is an entry fans have a lot of love for, and would mark another remake in the Need for Speed series after Hot Pursuit received similar treatment in 2020.

An open world racing game where the police could tail you across vast stretches of the map, Need for Speed: Most Wanted was all about working your way up an elite ladder of 15 street racers, beating them and taking their cars. It's considered one of the best instalments in the franchise.
