The New York Yankees’ iconic shortstop Derek Jeter will be the face of MLB The Show 23’s Collector’s Edition, flanking Jazz Chisholm on the cover of this year’s game. The superstar – who won five World Series – was elected into the baseball Hall of Fame in 2020, and his career has been captured by artist Sanford Greene for the box art.

There are a bunch of versions available this year, starting with the most expensive Captain Edition, which you’ll be able to pre-order from PS Direct or physical retailers. Priced at $99.99, the bundle comes with a striking New Era MLB The Show 9FIFTY Limited Edition Cap, steel book case, the game on both PS5 and PS4, and four days early access.

You’ll also get some in-game incentives, like double daily login rewards for the entire lifecycle of the game, a ton of Diamond Dynasty packs, and some Jeter themed customisation options. If you don’t want the physical stuff, then you can plump up for the Digital Deluxe Edition, which also costs $99.99 but has even better Diamond Dynasty incentives, including 30k Stubs.

Finally, a Technical Test will open on 15th February across all supported platforms, including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. “We want to deliver the best version possible of MLB The Show 23 and to do that we need everyone’s help to stress test the servers, online matchmaking, cross-platform play, online co-op, and more in addition to gathering feedback on gameplay,” brand strategist Ramone Russell said.

We’ll be checking that out, for sure!
