An invisible John Cena has announced WWE 2K23 will release for PS5, PS4 on 17th March 2023. The follow-up to a much better entry after a rough few years for the wrestling series, John Cena will be feature on the box art this year and also have his own Showcase storyline in the game. If you pre-order any one of the title's three versions, you'll even get to play as musician Bad Bunny. Check out the trailer to see both Cena and Bad Bunny doing a bit of promo for WWE 2K23.

The official WWE website then reveals some of the new additions and updates fans can look forward to in this year's instalment. In the 2K Showcase mode starring John Cena, you'll actually play as the wrestler's opponents instead of the man himself. "Spanning his 20-year WWE career and narrated by Cena himself, this interactive sports entertainment documentary uses 2K’s unique Slingshot Tech for a seamless transition from gameplay to live-action footage to bring pivotal moments in each match to life."

One brand new mode is WarGames, which allows you to select between 3v3 and 4v4 matches and face off against multiple wrestlers across two rings, all while a gigantic steel cage covers the entire area. Available in single player and multiplayer, there's no hiding during that game mode.

The MyGM mode will have more options for you to choose from (further show options, more seasons, bigger match cards, and extra match types) while MyFACTION introduces online multiplayer. "Players can now take their faction online and compete for global dominance, or compete in Weekly Towers and Faction Wars, while new themed card packs and goals roll out regularly throughout the year." WWE 2K23 will be made available across three versions: the standard edition is $60 on PS4 and $70 on PS5. A $100 Deluxe Edition bundles in the season pass, some card packs, and includes three days of early access from 14th March 2023. On top of that, the $120 Icon Edition adds a Ruthless Aggression pack which celebrates John Cena's career.
