Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PS5 PS4

Activision has delayed the beginning of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2's second season of content by two weeks to 15th February 2023. A reason wasn't cited in a post on Twitter, but it's explained the many developers that work on the series have "been making several changes based on what we have heard from our player community".

To make up for the delay, the statement confirms Season Two will bring the Resurgence mode to Warzone 2 along with a brand new smaller map for the Battle Royale game. Traditional multiplayer fans playing Modern Warfare 2 can look forward to ranked play, new maps, modes, weapons, and more. Further details will be shared in a deep dive blog post next week, which includes updates to the gulag, looting, and loadouts.

Delays for the second season of content for Call of Duty titles are actually somewhat common, as Charlie Intel comedically points out Call of Duty: Vanguard suffered essentially the exact same pushback. On 19th January 2022, Vanguard's second season was delayed from 2nd February to 14th February. Just one year later, pretty much the same thing has happened to Modern Warfare 2.
