Stop us if you have heard this one before, but rumours of the long-awaited reveal of that Silent Hill 2 revival have begun to swirl again, with reliable folks indicating that we will find out more sometime in September.
Andy Robinson over at VGC has heard from several sources that a reveal is imminent and sooner than he had anticipated. In addition, noted scribe and industry insider Jeff Grubb popped into the replies to fan the flames further, getting our hopes up and our hype levels ever-so-slightly elevated:
What does it all mean? Well, we will have to wait and see, as we have been burned before. Tokyo Games Show is coming up, and while a new game from a "world-loved series" is expected to be announced by Konami, VGC again reports that it is expected to be something smaller, rather than something related to the Castlevania, Silent Hill or Metal Gear Solid revival projects supposedly in the works.
So could that mean we do get a PlayStation Showcase after all? It has been a full year, and Sony typically does hold these events in September. We will just have to wait and see, so watch this space, and speculate wildly in the comments section below.

Its been silent for a long time and I am sure getting the reboot was a hard hill to climb.
I am excited for it tho.
Here's hoping..silent hill is an awesome game..when i first bought it on my ps1 i had little idea what horrors i was about to unleash on my subconscious mind..that haunting guitar was and is still the stuff of nightmares..legend of a game..
Every few months the boy cries wolf. Journalists run around excited and screaming at the top of their lungs, “It’s happening! It’s finally happening!!” The wolf never shows and everybody just goes back inside frustrated and disappointed, and the cycle continues. Stop doing this to yourselves.
Playing SH2 as a teenager, I was devastated for a week after getting the suicide ending. Can't remember ever playing anything since that effected me emotionally on such a level. The only other media that has done that was the movie Hereditary.
Please not Bloober team, I'd hate to see Silent Hill turned into a mediocre walking simulator.

Would be great to see it come back, but at this point I’m not expecting anything.
A September showcase from Playstation would be very welcome. Also be nice to see some new first-party games next to games like silent hill. Just knock us from our socks again. Will be interesting to see if this (if real) will be a remake or really a reboot.

Leave SH2 alone. Either create a new SH from scratch or leave the series be. A remake of 2 will more than likely not do it justice.
It's going to be made by Bloober and people will have a meltdown. The only worst case scenario is if it would be remade by Aspyr Studios hahaha
As much as I'd like to be excited about Silent Hill coming back, I just do not like the prospect of Bloober Team remaking Silent Hill 2. I'll be much more interested if it turns out to be an original story, but something tells me that's not going to be the case. I don't know what that team has done to deserve the opportunity to touch one of the iconic horror games ever made.

Make it VR capable and launch it with PSVR2! I don’t even like the horror genre but RE7 in VR is still top of my list for VR games.
If it weren't for that one leak with the screenshots I would have stopped taking Silent Hill "leaks" remotely seriously a long time ago. Even then, this vague "a reveal is happening sometime soon" shtick is so old so idc.
I can't believe anyone still cares. It's Konami. They are gonna screw it up.
