An update overview trailer for the beleaguered Battlefield 2042 has been released, outlining the changes and new content players can expect going into Season 2, what is to come in Season 3, and beyond.

Amidst rumours that the troubled shooter was in "abandon ship" mode, the team at developer EA Dice pushed forward with the release of Season 1, Zero Hour, which came to the game a full seven months after launch. Check out our video on the subject for our full thoughts on the matter.

While we don't have official confirmation, Season 2 is expected to commence at the start of September, once Season 1's Battle Pass expires. Players can look forward to a new map, a new specialist, and the inclusion of additional weapons, gear, and gadgets.

Season 3 will bring more sweeping changes, perhaps the biggest being that the controversial specialists are being rolled into a more familiar class system. The individual perks and gadgets of each will now be available to the class as a whole, those being Assault, Recon, Support, and Engineer, although the specifics are still subject to change.

Some of the classic maps will be getting overhauled, starting with Renewal in September, and Orbital in October. The changes are pretty extensive, as you can see in the video.

These look like promising changes, but whether they will be enough to right the ship remains to be seen. What do you think? Are you still playing Battlefield 2042? Drop into the comments section below.
