Well, Polish developer Bloober Team may be not-so quietly connected to a new Silent Hill project, but it looks like it’ll announce a new Layers of Fear first. The studio sent press some new artwork today, which confirmed that the team will “unveil” a new title soon. We’re almost certain this will feature during Summer Game Fest later in the week.
The artwork – showing a particularly grisly canvas – included the following caption: “Reach beneath the surface and uncover the source of your fears.” It’s since been posted on the official Layers of Fear Twitter account. Speaking with IGN recently, studio boss Piotr Babieno said that it will reveal “future projects as soon as we can”.
Incidentally, financial documents published by Bloober Team recently suggested it may have signed a deal with Sony to bring its games to PS Plus, but when we pushed for comment a studio representative declined to elaborate.

Good. Hopefully it will be better than the second one. The first, and the dlc, I enjoyed a lot. Imaginative use of level design to build up the horror.
I know a lot of people slate bloober but while they definitely have room to improve (don't we all), I've genuinely enjoyed their creations so far.
Some gameplay efforts - such as insta-death chase scenes and certain stealth sections - have been a miss, bloober have been consistently improving the quality of their output with every title. They have a great knack for creating immersive and horrifying alternate realities and seem to understand the core pull of horror as a genre.
Say what you like about them now but I think we should "watch this space", so to speak. I'm seeing greatness in their not to distant future.
Edit: although to echo @Bleachedsmiles the 2nd Layers of Fear was a step in the wrong direction. Primarily because of those gameplay missteps I mentioned previously.
There genuinely may not be game I’ve hovered over more on the store than Layers of Fear. Curious to see how this turns out.
Bloober team getting the Silent Hill franchise SCARES ME!!!
Returning to Layers of Fear seems like a step back.
Interesting news, thanks for sharing!
Loved the first layers of fear & the dlc that they added later
@meistergeister that's a good thing really because the game certainly won't.
The first one was really good, the 2nd one was fine. The level designs were very interesting.
So I definitely keep a eye out for a teaser.
