Fall Guys recently went free-to-play, and while this meant a massive influx of new players, it appears there might have been some unintended issues with the game's new Battle Pass model.
In Fall Guys, you are awarded a currency called Fame for completing challenges, be they Daily or Weekly. Daily challenges award 300 Fame, and Weekly 1000. Fame is also awarded for just playing the game, but strangely, the more rounds you play, the less Fame you earn.
As highlighted by Redditor pass_my_cocoa, it appears that the most optimal way to earn Fame outside of Daily and Weekly challenges is to intentionally lose in the first round, net yourself 24 Fame, and repeat the process.
Of course, this is hardly the most fun way to earn Fame, and you could, you know, enjoy the game for what it is.
But if one thing in this world is certain, it's that gamers love to optimise their rewards. It seems like developer Mediatonic needs to make some changes to the current reward structure, an issue we outlined in our review.
Are you a rube, playing Fall Guys for fun and not maximising those Fame gains? Let us know how that's working out for you in the comments section below.

Spread the word! Let the pros get their optimal rewards and lose in the first round… It might mean I reach round 2 for a change!
@Kienda The fact that there are sweats in a game like this is... sad
If all the trophy hunters are doing this, I might have the chance to win a game!!!
I haven't played this for a while and definitely not since it went free to play. I can't even remember what Fame points are used for compared to Kudos or Crowns? Can you actually get anything useful for those?
@render Wasn't that just to "level up" and you get some predetermined reward with each level? As opposed to spending kudos and crowns on things you want from the shop.
I will be interested to see how this plays out. I have played lots of Fall Guys but not touched it in months, this new model puts me off completely. I can see it annoying a lot of OG players I presume there will be enough new players that will succumb to the free to play mechanics and make purchases to keep the game going.
@AndyKazama it's honestly not that hard of a game to win. I did it probably 5 times and only played game for 2 hours
@Voltan Could well have been. I remember them changing things around a bit with how crowns worked so that you could get more without having to win which I very rarely ever did
Sounds to me like Epic has changed the game in order to keep you playing it. I'm sure there's no secret that F2P games use certain gambling mechanics to keep you wanting to play.
Finally, a game for me!
@render fame is the new crowns. Its basically the premium currency now. Crowns level you up for extra awards on top of your usual xp awards.
Kudos are still in there but basically seem usless as you cant buy decent skins, etc... with them anymore. I mean there was 'grumpy glasses' and a bum bag (fanny pack for those over the pond) but compared to how it was its miles apart and not in the good direction.
@Weebleman I haven't played for a while anyway and never really bothered with the skins anyway so it probably won't change much for me, but it's like free to play has made it worse for those that did like those things. Shame really.
I get knocked out in the first round most of the time anyway so works for me!
Is this why im suddenly getting to the final round all the time. I thought i was just getting better at the game 😪😭
