Crimson Desert

Remember when Crimson Desert lit up The Game Awards 2020 with an ambitious trailer that looked almost too good to be true? While a release date wasn't attached to the project at the time, we will now have to wait even longer to play it for ourselves because Pearl Abyss has delayed it to an unspecified date. This is so the team can implement more ideas and mechanics into the full experience to make for an "even deeper, more enriching game".

Confirming the news on Twitter, the developer said: "Since Crimson Desert‘s gameplay trailer reveal last year, the response we received from the community has been a huge source of encouragement for our team. We would like to thank you for the amazing support and enthusiasm you’ve shown for our reveal."

"We are currently hard at work developing Crimson Desert, which is rapidly evolving with new adventures and exciting experiences. However, we have decided that we need to dedicate to adding new ideas for an even deeper, more enriching game. Therefore, in order to create the best possible experience, all the while ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in delivering the game, we have decided to delay Crimson Desert‘s release. We will provide an updated schedule in the future."

As a reminder of what we're talking about, head on through the link to check out the Crimson Desert gameplay trailer. It's a single player title with multiplayer components, set in a vast open world packed full of combat. You know, the usual AAA routine. It continues to look promising, but we won't be playing Crimson Desert any time soon.
