CD Projekt Red is teaming up with Netflix to bring us WitcherCon — a celebration of all things The Witcher. As you may already know, the Netflix series' second season is coming soon, so we imagine that this online event will probably focus on the live action show.
But going by the announcement, it sounds like the games won't be forgotten, so we're hoping that we get news on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for PlayStation 5. Last we heard, the next-gen version of Geralt's immense adventure is still set for the second half of 2021. Some details certainly wouldn't hurt.
WitcherCon will take place on the 9th and 10th July with two separate livestreams, but will you be watching? Twirl your sword in the comments section below.

This far down the line, I think even with a PS5 upgrade, the game will feel dated now.
I don’t know why, but it does currently.
I want to be proven wrong
I feel the PS5 version of W3 will be the only video game related news they'll announce. Like Robert says in the article, the stream's focus will most likely lean on the Netflix series.
That and probably some merchandise announcements and whatnot.
Here's to hoping I'll be surprised.
Well i loved the series, been waiting for the upgrade to play witcher 3. I fear people will complain about this being a thing instead of fixing 2077
It's so sad to say that nothing gaming-related excites me about CD Projekt Red anymore. They need to work a lot to completely erase the Cyberpunk disappointment from minds.
I'm excited about the Netflix animes though.
This is pretty neat. A new book announcement as well as a full remakes of Witcher 1-2 would be something I'd toss a coin to.
Powerwolf commented on the post on Facebook. Hopefully they are involved. (amazing band.)
Feels like this is all just an ad for Witcher season 2 on Netflix.
And that's not just me being a troll, I truly feel that way. The teaser trailer dropping the same time as this article may not be a coincidence, for both my feelings and this announcement.
How much did they have to enlarge Geralt to look the same size as Henry Cavil in that poster? lol
Jokes aside, I'm not sure what to expect from this? Witchercon sounds cheesy and bad, and while I always welcome news about the franchise the bitter taste of CDPR's latest f-up hasn't left my mouth yet. Don't get me wrong, I love The Witcher and I look forward to the second season of the Netflix show. (Hopefully, with the raised budget and how well it did, they've fixed the ***** aesthetics of the show?)
Would not surprise me if they drop a teaser trailer for next Witcher game. CDPR will feel they need to get back in people's good books.
Cannot wait to play through it again. I usually play through it once a year, but I’ve been holding off in 2021 for the PS5 release. I’ve bought it 3 times already; once at full price and twice for the $20 complete edition.
I'll absolutely play through a third time for some sweet sweet 60 fps and maybe ray tracing. Bring on the details!
Haven't they only recently split the team into two (or maybe not even done so yet) with half working on cyberpunk and half on witcher? I think this will be a long way off yet
@AdamNovice
I don't think they'll ever make the mistake of announcing something too early ever again bro 😂
It's gonna become the next Skyrim meme if it does a ps5 version without new content.
@NateGoesLive It has definitely aged poorly. I'm playing it now for the first time ever and the combat is pretty clunky and poorly put together. About 75% of my hits the enemy doesn't react and there's no sound effect. I only know I hit due to the flying text for the damage. Compared to a modern action RPG like Genshin Impact, the combat really doesn't stand up.
The experience system is also really bad how it seemingly randomly scales. Some quest will give me 400 experience, then another gives me 8. Killing enemies gives between 0 and 1 exp I think. It's like, what's the point of doing any of this stuff if it's not helping to build my character? All it's doing is wearing down my equipment.
Lots of bugs and crashes every time I play too. So much so that I'm really surprised that people were surprised Cyberpunk launched the way it did. I'm constantly getting stuck on stuff. Enemies stop animating and teleport around or become unkillable. Objects go through other things. Sometimes stop being able to talk to certain characters (found the thread where CDPR claims they fixed this exact issue, 6 years ago).
It's decent enough for a budget title though, avoiding the combat when possible to focus on what the game does right, which is the story and Gwent. Basically the game is do enough stuff required to move on to the next area and challenge the next gwent player. I wouldn't put it as the best PS4 game of all time like PushSquare did, but I'm definitely going to see it through to the end.
Would be nice for us Cyberpunk purchases to get some focus instead of an old game… no update for months.
Doug Cockle > Henry Cahill.
I'm desperately hoping they will announce complete remakes of Witcher 1 & 2, in addition to release dates for both The Witcher: Season 2 and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt's PS5 upgrade.
@AdamNovice never happening. They would be idiots to tease a game so far off after Cyberpunk teasers being shown years before the game was out.
@Nem it won’t. It’s free
@bimboliquido it isn’t going to have a Cavill skin 😂
