In case you'd forgotten, a batch of Ninja Gaiden games are getting re-released on PlayStation 4 this year. Called the Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection, the package brings Sigma, Sigma 2, and Razor's Edge to Sony's last-gen console — and of course, PS5 via backwards compatibility. When it was announced, there was no word on enhancements, or how the games would perform, but that's now changed.
Team Ninja has come out on social media to confirm details for the games running on PS5 and PS4 Pro. According to the developer, the Master Collection will reach 4K resolution and 60 frames-per-second on these machines. If you're rocking one of these more powerful consoles, you're in for a smooth ride.
Of course, it does call into question the standard PS4 version. This is a series of games that ideally hits those higher frame rates, so it seems the best we can hope for on the older console is 1080p at 60fps. Here's hoping Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja can confirm soon. The collection releases on 10th June this year, so there's not too long until we'll find out first hand.
Still, it's positive news for PS4 Pro and PS5 owners. Are you looking forward to Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection? Sharpen those katanas in the comments section below.

It'll be good to finally play through the first game... I mean, I know it's the Sigma version, but still.
Hopefully, we get a Ninja Gaiden 4 soon.
Never played the Ninja Gaiden series, so I'll definitely be picking this up, wonder if they'll release a Physical Edition?
It's clearly going to be 1080p at 60fps on the standard ps4. It would be ridiculous if it didn't.
@JustPlainLoco From what I can see, there is a physical release confirmed for Japan at least. Boxart for the game is available:

Not sure about NA or Europe yet, but I imagine there probably will be.
I had this for the old fat Xbox years ago.
Total B*stard game!!
I got up to that boss on a horse in the village and that was that.
Game was well ahead of it's time though, not sure what the differences people are saying SIGMA version gives.
Is it graphical only?
@JustPlainLoco. It is a physical edition.and the ninja gaiden games is amazing.i beat 1 and both way back on my psvita.but dont remember much about some of the bosses.so its good to play them again.and 3 will be a treat.word up son
@Futureshark No, I believe they are also rebalanced with fewer enemies and generally a bit easier (but still hard).
I hope everybody's ready to get there asses kicked! Ninja Gaiden is brutal.
4K 60 on the Pro sounds good.
I wonder if any design tweaks are in store?
These games were very different on Xbox & 360.
Not better per say, just different and perhaps harder.
I really want this..but its okay saying 4k @ 60fps ps5/ps4 pro if the assetts have not been updated then they will just look outdated no matter how sharp or smooth..c'mon remaster them properly..
I'm planning to get these on Xbox. That way I'd have almost the entire 6 games on one system. Also, the Xbox controller has always seemed a bit more robust for games like this.
@Northern_munkey exactly
Life in the old PS4 yet then....
I'm so excited for this. Such great games (3 was a little bit disappointing imo). So fast, slick and brutal. If anyone has played the vita versions, that has extra content, it would be nice to see that included, doesn't look like it will be though.
Ryu-lution? Ryu-ly!?
I mean, they are pretty old games... so it's expected.
Ninja gaiden sigma 2 is one of the 1st games I played back then when I got my PS3. My friend saw me play and got a PS3 + the game as well, but his PS3 got stolen couple months later...
@Nepp67 - Yeah, considering every NG game has been 60fps on all consoles (besides the Vita versions), it would be near impossible for this collection not to hit that mark on the base PS4.
I smashed the first on the og xbox. I'm going to smash it again!
ok, well at least we know it's not simply a port as i thought, will keep my eye out on this one
