Those of you who have already downloaded and played Destruction AllStars may have noticed a ‘Coming Soon’ window where the title’s Daily and Weekly Challenges are supposed to be. We’d assumed that developer Lucid Games was still busy beavering away on that feature, but we weren’t expecting them to be rolled out so quickly.
Rolled out they have, however. Writing on Twitter, the UK studio has announced that the Daily and Weekly Challenges are now live. “You can complete these challenges for XP to help boost your AllStar Level and earn AllStar Coins as you level up,” the studio said. It’s unclear why these weren’t primed for the game’s release yesterday, but perhaps the studio wanted to see how its servers fared first before rolling them out.
If you’ve already got the game loaded then you’ll need to reboot to see them, but there’s no need to download a patch or anything like that. Will you be trying to tick some of these challenges off tonight? Launch your Breaker in the comments section below.

Aren't these challenges a way of earning the MTX for free? If so then it's good they've released them so quickly.
Challenges won't save this game. The game is incredibly shallow, not enough game modes, and they take you out of the vehicles way too often when that is the best part of the game. Very glad it came free with PS+ as it would have flopped very hard being a $70 game. Will be dead really soon.
@AdamNovice that's what they said would come 'later this year' in the SoP vid - but right now they seem to award XP only.
Wait, what? I thought these challenges were for earning the destruction points? Are there are going to be separate challenges for XP and MTX currency?
@Voltan
Hmmm, haven’t logged in yet and don’t spend on MX as a matter of principle, so I was glad when they said this update would let us earn the relevant currency. Is this not the case? Don’t want to get into the game then find out I missed out on the relevant currency as I started levelling up too early.
@Zanao Agreed. I think the worst part is that Sony were hyping this up to be big launch title, something that it was never intended to be from a developer's angle I don't think.
The core car smashing is fun, but the on-foot stuff is just blerguhh (control is too floaty and finicky). My main grievance, other than the MTX and lack of content, is really the core gameplay itself; it's just too damn random and chaotic to feel truly in control of my game. Take for instance "Carnado" I had 80 points ready to bank and this would take us the win, but just as I was about to hit the centre, one of my teammates careened into me out of nowhere, knocking me back (eventually totalling my car) and denying our victory. It wasn't his or my fault, but the nature of the arena's layout.
I really think they missed a trick by not having circuit racing. Maybe it's just me and I really miss Destruction Derby 2
Having a blast with this game.
Don’t know why....I suck and haven’t won a game yet! Lol
@JB_Whiting they need to tone down damage from hitting walls, or objects other than opposing players, some of the maps are honestly too big, or it's just hard seeing the enemy team. I'll drive around for 30+ seconds just looking for an enemy car. Even worse when you get knocked out of the car and can't find a vehicle. Friendly collisions is definitely awful, shouldn't be adversely affected by your own time like that, completely agreed been screwed from trying to score points by teammates hitting me. The game is in a REALLY bad state. 3/10 from me. It just simply isn't fun.
Having completed all of currently available daily and weekly challenges - I can 100% confirm I didn't earn any Destruction Points
On a side note: I was like "I might as well play a few rounds to check out these challenges" and next thing I knew it was 3 hours later.
Who has time for a "games as a service" type gameplay? I don't see how people can invest time and enjoy it tbh. Shrugs
Played a couple of hours. Am probably done tbh.
Carnado is the only mode I enjoy, Gridfall is possibly the least fun I've ever had.
The matchmaking was lopsided quite a lot, very few 8v8 but a lot of 7v4. The courses seem too big too...or maybe the modes should be 10vs10/12v12.
The awards seem weird too. Banked the most gears and got an E, had a stinker of a round and got a gold trophy for an S rank 😆
@JB_Whiting maybe you should git gud
@theMEGAniggle Awww, if only the game was worthy of my time
I've played it a few times but its gonna get deleted asap, The thought of paying for this game makes me shudder ;/
@JB_Whiting it’s a very basic game that should have way more content, but I find it fun. I like how the triggers lock when you need to accelerate or brake. Other than that, it’s um yeah, it’s a game I guess
i think id prefer the original destruction Derby , this is a destruction derby and fortnight hash up , but then im an offline single player campaign gamer , hey its how i unwind.
