Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition has now been officially confirmed for PlayStation 5 by publisher PlayStack after the Trophy list leaked its existence last week. It isn't too far away either, with a release date of 4th March 2021 revealed in the announcement trailer above. If you already own the game on PlayStation 4, you'll be eligible for a free upgrade to the PS5 version and all the upgrades it brings.

The current-gen edition will run at a 4K resolution at 60 frames-per-second along with "ultra high-quality textures". There will also be some sort of support for the PS5 DualSense controller. In our original PS4 review of Mortal Shell, we were full of praise for its combat, environments, and atmosphere. "It might be a little too similar to Dark Souls in terms of overall tone and style, but it brings enough new ideas functionally to make it stand out from the crowd. Ultimately, this is a great entry into a demanding sub-genre that fans won't want to miss." We never really had any technical issues so it sounds like this PS5 version will only make a great experience even better.
