When The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released in 2015, the game came with several cool extras -- even if you just bought the standard version -- and CD Projekt Red is at it again with Cyberpunk 2077. Each copy of the upcoming open world title will include a bundle of digital goodies, including the original score, an art booklet, a Cyberpunk 2077 sourcebook, a comic, and some wallpapers.
It'll also throw in a reversible cover so you can have male or female V on the box, a physical map of Night City, some postcards, stickers, and a world compendium. Lovely stuff.
While these little bonuses aren't going to blow your mind, it's always nice to feel like you're being thanked for picking up a game. CD Projekt Red leaned heavily into consumer-friendly practices with the aforementioned Witcher 3, and it looks set to continue down this path with Cyberpunk 2077. It's good to see.

This looks great, but as I found The Witcher a bit lacking in the gameplay compartment, I'm holding off until I've read some reviews when it's released. Also, I like the "Plays great also on PS5 and Series X" sentence.
Mine came with an Xbox ๐, I don't buy physically much these days but I like it when you get maps and stuff so I may have to buy it to play on PS5
Nice. I've still got my School of the Wolf sticker plastered on my PS4.
I never bought a brand new, physical copy of TW3, so I missed out on that swag. I'm currently planning to snag this on PC, but I've preordered the physical version (it's just a code in a box, really) for just this reason. My preorder also comes with a steelbook.
Awesome... Love it when they put actual free stuff in the box @ApostateMage I've got mine on the back of my car
Yes, I do love little bits and pieces like this, especially maps and music.
Just like Witcher 3, CD Projekt Red yet again shows the world how to release a game with free extra content. The soundtrack is always a big thing for me!
Well, this tells me I'm gonna snag my first physical copy for a PC game ๐
@Haggis555 not just 3 but 1 & 2 ๐ every game they gave away free goodies digital or retail.. if you have steam copies you can find artbooks, ost, wallpapers whatnot in setup folder..
@ShaiHulud "Lacking in the gameplay compartment"?
Are you sure you played the right game? ๐
@Icey664 I'm positive as I've spent dozens of hours roaming the countryside! Mind you, I still enjoyed it as the writing and world-building was exceptional, but I did find the gameplay quite clunky and tedious.
When I buy the game does anybody want the original score, an art booklet, a Cyberpunk 2077 sourcebook, a comic, and some wallpapers?
@ShaiHulud I heard it didn't age as well, did you play it recently? I don't remember having issues at the time it released.
Nice, I'll buy the physical version first and the digital version second (when it's discounted on psn), I love physical bonus like this
@Icey664 Quite right. I wanted to dabble in the expansions somewhere last year (I played the base game around the time of its release) and I just couldn't get into it anymore, so that could well be it.
Hmmm.. Plays great also on PS5 and Series X..
We haven't seen how it plays on PS4 yet right?
Still don't know if I should buy it on the PS4 or wait on the PS5 version/patch.
I still have sealed GTA V poster from midnight release in 2013. I gave away my PS3 version disk with map in it to some random dude in Germany once I got hands on PS4 and its version of the game. Either way, this reminds me GTA so much, since all of their games been having maps packed in the box. When I was a child I had whole room wall with GTA maps sticked over it. Good times.
@OlosNah I will wait that extra month and will get it on PS5 just to get that ultimate experience.
Not for me. Wish they allow third person view for this game!
The reason im buying it on disc, cant remember the last disc game i bought though.
@Bamila yes you are right about that. But will they release it directly to PS5 or do you have to buy the PS4 disc and then download the patch? They haven't been clear about this right or did I miss something? That's one of the reasons why I'm still in doubt if I should buy it right away..
@OlosNah At present they have no plans for a PS5 version. When the PS5 comes out you can get a patch which will improve the PS4 version. A proper upgrade to fully utilize the PS5 is not coming until 2021 so a full PS5 version won't come until then at the earliest.
I believe they probably won't release a PS5 version until the expansions are out and then will do a Game of the year style edition with everything included.
I love little extras in physical games. Sound tracks are a big extra to me. Any game that goes above and beyond just the disk in the box shows gratitude to its fans. I do feel real gratitude and respect for the ones that do that.
I got my Pre-Order on PC with the GOG store so they get 100% of my cash.
That all does look great. Always cool when you get extra stuff
@BearsEatBeets Thanks for your reply. Do you you think it would have been better if they skipped this gen of consoles? They mostly showcase it for PC
all I want is the steel book to be restocked on amazon that is still unavailable till this day, although these goodies are still a nice addition.
@BearsEatBeets which would be the best time to purchase the game tbh, a native ps5 version with everything included
@OlosNah I wouldn't be surprised if the developers would have had an easier time if they skipped the current gen. It was never really an option though, the idea of the game started back when the current gen did and from a financial viewpoint they can't pass up a potential 130/140 million customers.
I'm sure the game will play just the same on current gen, it just won't look as spectacular as PC and eventual next gen versions.
@huyi If you can wait that long it will no doubt be the best console version. I want to play the game as soon as I can. With the date now late November there is a strong chance I'll be putting the PS4 disc into a PS5 anyway.
@BearsEatBeets yeah sometimes I forget this game is in development for quite some time.. I'm just really curious how it looks on the current gen consoles though we haven't seen that really yet maybe in their next stream in a few weeks
@OlosNah they said that it will run better overal on PS5, but the real PS5 patch is going to be released in few months. I imagine you will be able to play the PS4 disk version (or digital) before the real PS5 version is going to be available on PSN. I also think they are going to do the way EA is doing with FIFA. If you own Digital version, you will get to download complete new PS5 version, if you own a disk version, you will get to download just a patch.
And how is this recent news? This was announced months ago.
Was trying to figure out which room I would use the wallpaper in then saw it was digital...bumskeee
And those that purchase digital get: drumroll..... followed by sad trombone music.
@ShaiHulud the combat was terrible, let's not kid ourselves about that.
No they don't blow your mind. But in a a videogame market where you often don't get a complete game at launch or have a ton of micro transactions this is downright extraordinary. And it shows that CD Projekt Red is a company that truly appeciates it's customers and doesn't take them for granted. And backs it up with extras. What's sad is that they are practically the only company that does this.
Do they have any plans for story DLC?
@tameshiyaku
Slow news day they gotta get them clicks!
@BearsEatBeets
"...If you can wait that long it will no doubt be the best Playstation version..."
FTFY
Nice stuff. I pre-ordered Cyberpunk few days back. Is gonna be an excellent title. Cannot wait to play it.
