Skull & Bones was announced at Ubisoft's E3 2017 press conference and we have seen absolutely nothing of the game for nearly two years. Will it come out at some point in the future? Probably not, and you won't be seeing it around the launch of the PlayStation 5 either. That's because the French publisher has just confirmed its line-up for the next fiscal year, and Skull & Bones isn't a part of it.
The games you can look forward to from Ubisoft between now and 31st March 2021 are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, Gods & Monsters, and one more currently unannounced AAA title. That will most likely be a new Far Cry game, according to Jason Schreier. Where does this leave Skull & Bones? Well, probably dead and buried. The game's last update came via a Twitter post in May 2019 where it announced a delay. The account has remained silent since then. Can we say that Skull & Bones has been cancelled? Not officially, but we'd be surprised to see it ever release at this point.

Online only anyway...............next.
by that logic beyond good & evil 2 must be dead too... or they are just pushing it to next gen only
I'd say this game is dead in the water lol! Seriously though I doubt its coming out until atleast 2022 if at all.
@H4ilHydra We've seen a fair amount of Beyond Good & Evil 2 over the years. Meanwhile, Skull & Bones showed up at its announcement and never since.
it was announced in 2017 with demo everyone knows that and it showed up again at e3 2018 another demo 'The Hunting Grounds'.
fast forward to may 15, 2019 twitter:

@LiamCroft I'm certain there was a gameplay trailer at E3 2018 as well.
I wouldn't write it off just yet tbh
@Octane Huh, true. That's still nearly two years of nothing though.
@LiamCroft Thinking about it, didn't they announce some kind of weird rollerskating game? Where's that one?
@Octane That would be Roller Champions. It was announced for PS4 back in March, but we haven't seen much of that either. I believe it will at least release though haha
I would like to see it come out on next gen consoles around 2022/23, but I don't hold my breath.
Game looked dumb anyways. No loss there.
You never like to see a game get cancelled, but I have a hard time seeing this game sell well enough to justify its lengthy development cycle.
At least we have Black Flag if it is cancelled, shame if it is as i was looking forward to this.
I wonder if they might have delayed to add a campaign and will reannounce at some point.
Shame apart from the online only element I was looking forward to this. I wonder though if this was a victim of the post ghost recon breakwind debacle and their reorg afterwards.
Ive been waiting for this game for a long time now. This sucks. I wanted a great pirate ship battle experience. I refuse to play an assasins creed pirate game.
I can't say I liked the look of it. The naval parts of the aassissns Creed games were a fun distraction but I could never see a whole game based on them being fun for more than 10 minutes
As it was, it wasn’t appealing.
was looking forward to this game, Welp Welp welp
I totally forgot about this game. I am still interested in it but as you guys pointed out nothing has been said about it. At this point it's probably just Vaporware.
This looks quite amazing like a more real Sea of Thieves.
It just reminded me of the game Overboard! (not to be confused with the Goldie Hawn/Kurt Russell vehicle) without the fun.
Only way this comes out is if it's free to play...
@LiamCroft add WiLD to this and the rollerskating one, and Ubisoft has a pretty neat lineup of vaporware 😂
Maybe even BG&E2...
It was going to be a hard sell in its proposed form, to be honest. No way in hell am I gonna play a game about battling pirate ships for hours, being online only. Reboot the project as an open world pirate RPG with an online multiplayer component and I’d be more inclined to play it.
Wasn't interested when it was first announced sadly.
You would've thought with AC Black Flag (Which reportedly could've become a spinoff game but they were afraid of dropping the AC branding),template it'd been a no-brainer to follow it up,(or even the classic Pirates Sid Meier game)...but instead like most modern Ubisoft affairs unless they can turn it into a live-service online grindfest they just don't know what to do with it. Like the originally planned Jade focused single player sequel of Beyond Good & Evil 2 (last gen),or a future Rayman. And they wondered why people weren't buying their games as much?! :-/
Oh, where is the game called Skull and Bones?
Has it been sunk down to Davy Jones?
Is it not still the game Playstation owns?
So where in the h___ is Skull and Bones?
(Use whichever sea shanty fits)
