15. Resogun (PS4)
The mighty Housemarque knocked it out of the park with Resogun, a stylish, voxel-based side scrolling shoot-'em-up. The arcade action found here is arguably the best on PS4, with endlessly replayable levels as you reach for higher and higher scores. It may not be all that complex, but the ultra smooth gameplay is some of the slickest you'll find. A class act

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the latest entry in Naughty Dog's excellent Uncharted franchise. It was originally planned as DLC for Uncharted 4, but ended up growing much bigger than that – and we're super glad that it did. It follows treasure hunter Chloe Frazer and mercenary Nadine Ross as they search for the legendary tusk of Ganesh. Playing out like a 'Best of Uncharted' experience, this excellently paced adventure is one of the best in the series, with all the quality visuals, writing, and action you'd expect from a Naughty Dog title.
This reimagining of the very first game in the series was made to accompany the movie, but ended up totally eclipsing it. Blending a familiar adventure with some new weapons and gadgets, Ratchet & Clank is both nostalgic and fresh. It's a visual treat, with exquisite animation and fun shooting/platforming gameplay. This is one gorgeous adventure that both fans and newcomers will adore.
Few games linger quite like The Last Guardian, the latest opus from famed industry icon Fumito Ueda. Depicting the relationship of an unnamed boy and his bird companion, this relatable yarn is bursting with bespoke puzzles and some of the best set-pieces you’ll find on the PS4. While its cumbersome controls and unpredictable AI may irritate some, genDESIGN’s long overdue epic impressively illustrates the power of games, as it builds bonds through the power of minimalistic gameplay.
It's still surreal to think that Final Fantasy VII Remake is here, and that it's actually a really good game. Cloud and the gang deliver a fantastic action RPG that's elevated by a top tier combat system. Story cutscenes are great throughout, and the iconic cast is recreated pretty much perfectly. It's not a perfect remake, and it only covers a relatively small part of the original PlayStation classic, but Square Enix deserves a lot of praise for crafting something so heartfelt.
