Ubisoft is letting everyone play Assassin's Creed Odyssey for free this weekend. The free trial is available to download right now on PlayStation 4, but you won't actually be able to play it until the 19th March. It'll come to an end on the 22nd March, so you've got a couple of days to get stuck in. However, it's worth noting that the event page on PS4 says that you need to be a PlayStation Plus member to gain access.
Even if you already own the game, playing this weekend will unlock a special Ezio armour set as a Ubisoft Club reward.
Assassin's Creed Odyssey is a gigantic open world game -- and one that we highly recommend. With enjoyable combat, exploration, and some great role-playing mechanics, we reckon it's right up there with the best open world titles of this generation. We dare say that it's a perfect fit for those looking to stay at home because of the ongoing coronavirus situation.
Having said all that, Odyssey is bloody huge in terms of file size, weighing in at around 100GB. With that in mind, it'd be best to pre-load the free trial now, before the weekend begins.
Oh, and any progress that you make during the free trial will carry over to the full game, should you decide to buy it. Nice.
