After a few teases here and there which took the form of an ARG, the team at Frictional Games has finally lifted the lid on its next big horror project. Amnesia: Rebirth is a sequel which takes the classic 2010 scarefest and gives it an entirely new setting, protagonist, and set of gameplay mechanics. Due for release on PlayStation 4 towards the end of 2020, the announcement trailer above is well worth a watch.
Taking to the PlayStation Blog, creative director Thomas Grip describes how the studio has had to up the ante for its next game. "As you might expect from a Frictional game, we’re not simply going for a carnival attraction of jumpscares. Amnesia: Rebirth is an emotionally harrowing journey — something different, something less predictable. It will test you in ways you haven’t experienced before, and will make you think about the things that really scare you."
It's been quite the wait to see what comes next from Frictional Games after SOMA, but if that reveal trailer is anything to go by, it'll be worth it. Are you excited about Amnesia: Rebirth? Get scared in the comments below.

Looking forward to it. I really like Frictional's approach to the horror-genre.
Ooh I like this. Amnesia was fun, but SOMA really left an impression on me. One of the most atmospheric gaming experiences I've had and a great story as well.
SOMA was such a different gaming experience, loved it.
Looking forward to this, can only be good.
Great news, playing through SOMA at the moment and it is awesome sauce. Loved all the intentional graphical glitches which really added to the atmosphere.
I tried using safe mode tip to rebuild my database but now my PS4 wont start, says it cannot read the hard drive??
Trailer looked pretty dope
@East76landS Hope you haven't pressed the wrong button buddy if you are trying to get the PS4's performance better.
Take care when you're in safe mode not to hit “Initialize PS4” instead of “Rebuild Database” or you will actually wipe all of your data. But it's very straightforward and unless you have butter sticks for fingers, it can't really go wrong.
No idea, the Playstation won't detect my hard drive at all now though. I've tried removing and reinserting as shown on various videos but to no avail.
I hope the Special Edition comes with a few extra pair of boxers.
Oh wow! That looks really cool!!
Theres not enough high quality AAA or even AA type horrors games.
I really like soma, the story is really good, scifi horror is my type of horror. Is this game scifi or not, it looks like set in submarines. Either way, I'm interested in it 😃
..the older versions would be perfect for PSVR... same with the Outlast series..
