Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is shaping up to be a decent take on the story of Dragon Ball Z, but if you haven't been keeping up with the game, then you may want to watch the video that we've embedded above. Bandai Namco's suitably named 'Game Introduction' trailer does a good job of breaking down the fundamentals of what is essentially a semi-open world action role-playing title where you play as Goku and the gang.
Kakarot's due out next year, on the 17th January. Will you be saving the Earth all over again? Begin building your spirit bomb in the comments section below.

anyone else think it's odd they used the English voices in the game play but the Japanese in the trailer at the end
why not use the same voices in both bits?
@FullbringIchigo I noticed that too. I assume it's because the footage at the end might not have a dub version yet, or some technicality like that.
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is the series pinnacle for me.
Remake that with full cutscenes etc and you have the definitive gaming DBZ experience
@Netret0120 did you ever play Infinite World, it was basically Budokai 4 and took everything B3 did and improved it, removed some of the useless characters and replaced them with new ones mainly from GT, modified the capsule system to the best it was in the entire series, added some mini games in the story mode (also added cutscenes too) and smoothed out some of the other gameplay features such as NOT having to be in Hyper mode to use a ultimate attack
@FullbringIchigo You mentioned this earlier and I was coming here to tag you and ask if you'd seen this, but of course you have!
You looking forward to this?
@RogerRoger hell yeah i am, it's Dragon Ball my all time favourite anime/manga series and it's a RPG my favourite genre of games how could i not be excited
@FullbringIchigo
Nah i hadn't played it. I'll give it a shot if it is similar than Budokai Tenkaichi 3. I will watch some reviews thanks!
@FullbringIchigo Here's hoping it turns out to play as good as it looks; heck, even I'm tempted, the trailer was really effective!
@RogerRoger i'm sure i will love it and it's been a VERY ling time since we had the whole DBZ story told well in a game, probably a good 8 or 9 years, a lot of the fighting games just had the bare basics as an excuse to tie things together (and in the case of Raging Blast 2 it didn't have one at all)
the story of XenVerse was pretty good and it was basically a replacement for Dragon Ball Online (which never made it outside of the Asian market) but i missed the original story
as for FighterZ it's story was as throw away as you can get but as that game was built around the eSport market and not the average gamer that's not surprising, looks absolutely fantastic though and it's visuals just ooze Dragon Ball but plays no different that a normal tournament fighter and the only people playing it now are die hard fighting gamers
@FullbringIchigo Sounds like those Naruto games they'd release whilst waiting for the manga to catch up. Some had half-decent original storylines, whilst others... well, yeah.
@RogerRoger yeah kind of
