Let's face it, that was weaker then the weakest Nintendo direct
Short and sweet. I liked it.
@ReigningSemtex For who? if you Own a VR Headset i'd say you have alot to look forward to
@Areus Pretty sure less than 10% of PS4 owners also have a VR headset, so while I liked the presentation not many people benefit from VR announcements.
@Areus I haven't, so I don't. Crash team racing was the only game of interest to me unfortunately
I'd almost guarantee most of the people I see disappointed, went in with high expectations on games that had no chance of being shown or information being told. There was actually people out there expecting a Last of Us 2 release date......
Ironman Vr announced, Concrete Genie Story trailer plus fall release date, Blood and Truth trailer with release date, Days Gone Story trailer which was epic.
Personally can't complain at all, short and sweet, I liked it.
That was much better than I expected it to be. Short, to-the-point, no PR chatter with Shuman and crew. Very few of the game's caught my eye, but they're definitely on the right track as far as the format goes
Happiness is largely about expectations. It was a fine starting point. I expect if they plan to continue this throughout the year they'll likely ramp them up as we go.
Remember the knee-jerk reactions to Sony pulling out of E3?Without Sony E3 is a husk. Microsoft continues to move towards a streaming future and Nintendo will air a direct (which could quickly and easily be divorced from E3). Honestly, the first time Nintendo did a direct in place of their E3 press conference was the moment they sneakily pulled out of E3. They can pivot so much more quickly on that marketing avenue. Sony's wise to follow in their footsteps, and as a baseline, State of Play can only go up from here.
Missed it, but I like the idea of PlayStation directs. I like it when Nintendo does it, so I’m excited to see PlayStation doing something similar.
this was a dud but looking forward to the next one (even though they blatantly copied everything from nintendo...again)
@ReigningSemtex For you maybe. For me it was exactly what I wanted. Short, punchy and plenty of VR support.
@manu0 Ugh, I really hate the name “nindies” though, what a stupid name. If someone says in front of me “nindies”, I will go full rage mode.
Hmm, nothing in there that excites me at all, but then again the next one they do might be completely full of things that interest me, so I can't judge yet. It was shorter and had less "big news" than a Nintendo direct, but if Sony does these monthly, promoting smaller games, then I can see it working really well for them
Short and sweet. Lots of games interested me for both VR and traditional games. Great to see VR is growing its library of must have games! VR gaming/tv/movies on PS5 is gonna be awesome!
Using a brief, concise format like this - esp. when there's little AAA content - is a pretty reasonable way to do it, and will make the "BIG" announcements pop even more.
Rough start but they will undoubtedly improve, looking forward to future states.
Concrete Genie it looks fantastic and i cant wait to play it. 😃
@BranJ0 Dont you like Concrete Genie. 😔
Concrete Genie and Observation. Crash and Days Gone are in preorder already. 😁
@ReigningSemtex such negative attitude must be from an Xbox player. Because if your a PlayStation fan then you could only see positivity in this, it’s good to see Sony plowing so much effort into VR hopefully the price will come down soon so those with less income could benefit from it, like yourself for instance! In future take your negative trolling onto other platforms it’s unwanted here, numpty!
@Areus I think reigningsemtex is a troll. His negativity stinks of Xbox 😂
Thought it was good. Better than expected even. People should remember this is the first episode, there are more to come throughout the year.
@Deanvon01 your response is hypocritical, a post full of negativity towards me preaching about not being negative. So if I have an opinion that differs to yours I'm suddenly an Xbox fanboy and not a PlayStation fan? Ok. You know nothing of me or my finances no need to get personal. For the record I am not 'loyal' to any brand but if anything this gen nearly all my gaming is done on ps4 while my xbox collects dust so I hardly think that's me fanboying for Xbox, the fanboy thing is lame I think any system with enough games I want to play is worth getting.
@KingdomHeartsFan the format of rapid announcements and even the graphical layout were clearly copied from nintendo.
I liked it, and though it didn't hold much interest as a non vr owner I do think it's good to move away from the "who wins E3" nonsense of the past.
Some Nintendo directs hold no interest, but I watch because the ability to suddenly surprise your audience with something they didn't expect is a better idea than big announcements at E3 for games that are barely in development, just for the extra press coverage
@Flaming_Kaiser Oh no Concrete Genie was by far the game that excited me the most, but I'm remaining cautiously optimistic for it - I want to see what reviews say first
@ReigningSemtex lol, dnt be so defensive and if I appeared personal it was meant to garner a reaction, so let’s put our controllers down and stop this before it escalates unnecessarily out of control, take this as sort of an apology but don’t be so critical in future ok? 😁
A waste of time, no matter the format..
Didn't watch it, missed the old 'downloadable' tv-episodes they did on the PS3 back in the days (sorry, forget what they were called). Loved them, and being able to get a freebie theme for downloading the episode! All those people that are stating that sony copied nintendo, apparently never realized that Sony actually did it before nintendo with those PS3 episodes. Nintendofanatics always think nintendo was the first for everything, and it's kind of a shame. It's fine to be a fanboy (sorry to say that I think all the companies have something fun and interesting to chose from, and own enough of the consoles and games to prove this), but if you don't know the actual truth, you should keep the comments to yourselves.
Other than that, glad that the VR has lots of games to look forward to, and let alone, this is the first time that Sony did this, so just like a TV Show, the first episode is always the most boring, even if it wasn't. They'll get better with each continued one, learning from their mistakes and listening to the social media to learn what they can do better. They're not going to announce too much, or they give themselves nothing for later episodes!
@BranJ0 Observation looked really cool hopefully its not digital only. 😁
