Better late than never, we suppose. As teased last week, developer The Behemoth has announced its popular co-op beat 'em up is coming to PlayStation 4 with Castle Crashers Remastered.
Writing on its blog, the studio states the remastered version of the game comes with all previously released DLC, performance and visual enhancements, and a minigame called Back Off Barbarian. The PS4 version will utilise your controller's light bar to match your chosen character, which is neat. There aren't many more details to share, other than it's due for release in the summer.

Never got to play this game, but was a fan from the Newgrounds community. I've been really into split screen games lately so will defs need check this out!

It’s pretty good but i dunno if it’s worth a second punt.. why no full blown sequel?
It does remind me of playing the excellent Renegade Ops, though.
@kyleforrester87 They actually explained why no sequel in the blog post.
Said they prefer to make new worlds than expand old ones, citing if we got Aline Hominid 2 we wouldn't have Castle Crashers, and if we got Castle Crashers 2 we wouldn't have Battleblock Theatre.

If this is the same port as the Xbox One version, than the online is a laggy mess. Only get this if you got 3 others to play with.
I quite like this game but not sure I’d buy it again personally.

@kyleforrester87 I mean, it's nice this is finally happening both because it cant be hard to port from Xbox One to PS4, and because I've been saying this is a Switch game waiting to happen since that system launched.
These guys do take their sweet time releasing titles though. Whatever they are working on should be good. I'd like to see Alien Hominid again one day.

Not a dig, serious question, you don't really play these types of games w/ others too much do you? I know you and the kid were duking it out in Beat Saber but this was/is all about the co-op. I wouldn't get it again either to play myself, though I did enjoy it, but I'm pretty certain my kids will just to have something else to play together.
tldr Not worth double dipping for single player, but a great couch co-op game. Well ok they probably wouldn't buy it again for couch co-op either, but school co-op, friends house co-op, traveling co-op. You get the idea.
@rjejr I'm getting this game because I play the demo I like it a lot.i was going to buy that game on my ps3.but my backlog of ps3 games was a lot.so I never bought it.glad I waited.word up son
@playstation1995 I probably got it like I got many of my PS3 games, on PS+.
