PlayStation PS5 Sony 1

Sony brings together developers every year for the annual PlayStation DevCon, and 2018’s incarnation will take place in London – presumably at the platform holder’s headquarters, unless it’s booked out a swanky business room. And this is the problem: despite PlayStation 5 reports all over the web, we don’t actually know anything about the event.

A website reveals that registrations for the convention are now closed, and there’s no information on when it will take place, who will be attending, and what the sessions will involve. Some people think that the manufacturer may brief those in the audience on its next generation console, and while it’s certainly possible, we simply can’t infer anything from the information we have.

So there you have it, the hot rumour of the weekend: Sony may or may not brief unknown attendees on unknown topics at an industry event set to take place in London on an unknown date. To be honest, we’re almost certain that it’s talking to its partners in detail about its next device – but it’s going to have so much red tape around the specifics that we won’t hear much until it’s ready to reveal all.
