Monkey King: Hero Is Back, the PlayStation 4 exclusive adaptation of October’s animated movie, will launch next year in China – and in Western territories, too, courtesy of Oasis Games. The title – which is being developed by HexaDrive – was originally announced last year. Sony showcased a new trailer during a Chinese press conference in Shanghai earlier today.

The game looks okay, with some nice animations and visual touches. It appears to be a pretty bog-standard brawler, so it’s nothing you haven’t seen before, but there does seem to be some variety to the combat in terms of tossed attacks and magic spells. The platform holder’s clearly focusing on the Chinese market with this release, but it’s pretty neat that it’s willing to go to these lengths to make its system a success in emerging markets.

I feel like it still need a bit of workaround, since many of the enviroments looks somewhat empty, and animations still needs a bit of polish.
Neverthless, it looks very promising, and it has a lot of personality. This, along with Hardcore Mecha, Lost Soul Aside, ANNO and Project Boundary are my most anticipated chinese games. Kill X and Pervader also recieved trailers but they still need some polishing to do (though they were labeled "work in progress" so who knows).
Also, appearantly, Pervader features cat-ear girls...so...yeah.
I was hoping it be a follow up to the monkey king game release on ps3. I cannot remember what it was called but love it. This looks totally different.
It's like God of War... only Better!!!
Bland much? Just give me Biomutant already
@brendon987 Same here, no longer interested in this game.
