Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is adding to its cast of big baddies with its first slice of downloadable content. Square Enix has revealed that Vayne Solidor, the main villain from Final Fantasy XII, will be joining the playable roster in April. You can take a look at how he plays in the trailer that we've embedded above.
Vayne's a bit of a weird pick considering the popularity of other Final Fantasy XII characters (Balthier, Basch, Fran, Gabranth, to name a few), but we suppose NT does need a couple more bad guys to even things out.

@ShogunRok I get it, no EX Mode means Gabranth's playstyle would need to be redone, but he's super popular and iconic. The man's the FFXII logo!
AFAIK the game seems to have just the main characters from each main series game so what about characters such as Ramza from FFT or crossover with KH and have Sora? Being realistic however, supporting characters similar to Wakka, Barrett, Locke etc should be added. Most FF games excel in the supporting cast anyway. Except XIII.

@Cassetticons the game still has EX attacks though so maybe he could have a system similar to Vaan's his EX attack can be charged during use
LAME! Give us Ardyn from XV, he has more charisma than the whole cast of XII combined.
@Feena wouldn't he just be a copy of Noctis though, i agree he should be in the game but i would rather have fresh, different characters first
Not that I'll ever be going back to play this game anyway, because it's meh, but what a poor choice for another character. They've already put Vaan in there - AKA the worst protagonist in the series. Balthier, Ashe, Gabranth, Basch... XII doesn't have a great cast to begin with, but they're picking poorly.
@johncalmc regardless of how you feel about the characters of FFXII, Vaan is the protagonist and Vayne was the antagonist so them being in the game makes perfect sense especially if they want at least 1 protagonist and 1 antagonist from each game
would i prefer Gabranth, of course i would but he wasn't the bad guy of FFXII
@FullbringIchigo I understand that. But it's not like this is a rule. It's not like it has to be the main character and the villain from each game. Y'shtola isn't the main character in XIV. Or the main villain. Or even the main side character. Vaan sucks. Vayne sucks. The game with be better with better characters.
@johncalmc i understand that point although i think Y'shtola was a bad example because XIV is a MMO it doesn't have a main character same as XI so perhaps Terra would be a better example as VI didn't really have a main character as both Celes and Locke can also fit that bill
anyway yes there are better characters in XII but you also have to take into account the game itself and having to keep the characters balanced
and as i said whether or not they suck is unimportant they are the main protagonist and main antagonist of XII so they would get priority over the others
