It started at the beginning. Shawn Layden has become infamous for his t-shirts that hold subtle and not-so-subtle secrets, and he was at it again with PSX 2017 by zipping it up in a jacket. At the conference's end, he finally revealed that his apparel of choice for the night points toward a remaster of MediEvil, which will be coming to the PS4 (and PS4 Pro in 4K). Besides the briefest of glimpses at a skeleton grunt, no footage or release dates were revealed. Only the promise of "more details soon" has been guaranteed, but Layden might be implying over on the PlayStation Blog that it will be releasing sometime in 2018.

It seems that Activision and Sony are finally getting the ball rolling on reviving PlayStation classics with the success of the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. With this announcement in particular, it also confirms Sony was listening long before fans' more recent, louder pleas for a remaster of MediEvil. Spyro the Dragon Trilogy next?
