There’s a good deal going around if you’re in the market for a spangly PlayStation 4 Pro: it includes five games. Well, technically Sony’s stretching that description a little bit as the package is padded by the addition of Horizon: Zero Dawn’s brand new The Frozen Wilds DLC, but seeing as that’s both bigger and better than most full games, we’ll let the platform holder off.
So what do you get as part of this bundle? Well, you get a 1TB PS4 Pro and copies of Gran Turismo Sport, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, WipEout Omega Collection, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and the aforementioned expansion pack. That’s a pretty damn good selection of high quality games – and incidentally they all perform damn well on Sony’s supercharged hardware. What about the price? Yeah, it’s £449.99.
There’s nothing coincidental about the collection matching the price of the Xbox One X – in fact, the tweet announcing it includes a cheeky little emoji acknowledging that fact. As you can imagine, it’s gone down like a lead balloon on Twitter, so maybe steer clear of that particular thread if you value your sanity. As far as we can tell, the bundle’s only available at GAME in the UK and is currently sold out, but we imagine if this proves popular it may well get a wider release.

Listen, this is going to sound like a fanboy comment, but isn't this basically Sony saying "hey look, we've got exclusive games!"
@ShogunRok Of course it is. Most of these games are exceptional demonstrations of what the PS4 Pro can do, too.
PlayStation UK is pretty aggressive (way more so than the US branch), so I'm not surprised they put this out today.
That’s a good deal, and those games are a good set of exclusives, imo. Business is business 😉
I could buy the XBox One X. But the only game I would probably play is Star Wars Battlefront 2, maybe Monster Hunter. Most games I am looking forward to being PS4 exclusives.
I rather save the money twice and build a gaming PC so I got even better quality than the XBox One X can deliver, plus upgradeability.
But the Nintendo and PlayStation are always being bought because of the exclusives.
I might buy a PC when Cyberpunk 2077 is being released. Unless a PS5 will do as well at that time.
There's no way to compete with PS in this generation, I believe that if Xbox One X fails.... probably MS is going to go Sega.
Damn... Heres hoping we get a deal like this in The States.
That’s one hell of a deal. The only issue I can think of is that these are most likely codes for digital downloads, with some fairly large sizes...of course not the 100+ GB sizes for the Xbox One X games. Talk about data cap buster.
The twitter account with "X" logo is too far gone, even the ps exclusive can't save them. They trapped playing halo, gear, forza, and opening loot box, forever..
That's an awesome deal. And we're not just talking average games here. Well, GT Sport is pretty average, but Wipeout (though not my kind of game) is a great futuristic racer, Horizon is arguably the best new IP this gen and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is the latest, and frankly one of the greatest, entries in what many consider Sony's flagship series right now. And all of those came out this year. If MS were to bundle the X with this year's exclusives it'd have Forza 7, Cuphead, Super Lucky's Tale and PubG. The last one is a smash hit no doubt, and Forza is the best racing series, Cuphead is very good but like many of the very good PS4 indies, isn't a system seller. Super Lucky's Tale is the Knack of the Xbox brand. Hopefully next year MS will bring more to the table first party wise. Gears and Halo could be on the table, which would be an excellent start but still needs a couple more. Jury is out on Sea of Thieves, State of Deacy 2 and even Crackdown 3 (which has been held in limbo by MS for too long now).
Fantastic business strategy to oppose the x1x.
Wait only Wipeout is good. This makes Sony look desperate. Nobody wants to play multiplatforms on the PS4 anymore. The X is here now.
@waluigifan1 Look who is salty... 😀😁😂🤣
I almost feel this is desperation to try n knock the X...
Ik there’s The “Xbox has no exclusives” but there are those gamers who just care about power but don’t like PC Gaming...
Time for Microsofts retaliatory strike, something like: "One X does what Pro don't". It will be a battle for the ages!
Obviously, after being warned against looking at the Twitter thing, the first thing I did was look at the Twitter thing, and my God, it was beautiful.
More like two games some dlc and wipeout.
i still think sony needs to drop the price of the PS4 pro. there's enough difference between the Pro and XB1X to justify the $100 extra.. but it's stretching it imo to think that either is $200 (or $300) higher in production costs than a base PS4s/XB1s. also, you could probably buy all those games/content for under £100 anyway (though not in GAME obviously).
i reckon on black friday, they'll be selling it for £299 with horizon and lost legacy.
@leucocyte Why would they be in any rush to drop it though? It's priced competitively against the XB1X, but I don't think Sony care whether you're gaming on a PS4 or a PS4 Pro, it's just an option primarily for those with 4K TVs.
They aren't trying to encourage people to upgrade in the same way they would if it were a new platform (i.e PS5), and rightly so.
@waluigifan1 Oi, everyone likes a bit of trolling now and then, get the plebs riled up, but do it too much and it starts to get annoying.
If that's all you're here to do — and looking at your post history, it is — then we're going to have to warn you.
Also worth mentioning that if you get banned here, you also get banned from Nintendo Life. Not much of a Waluigi fan if you can't talk about the latest Donkey Kong games with the other twelve year olds.
Personally I wouldn't count the Lost Legacy and the Frozen Wilds as 'games' as such. I know the Lost Legacy is a 'standalone' but its still a DLC as such. Its like the Old Blood was to the New Order or First light was to Second Son.
Would they have packaged in The Witcher 3 and called that 3 games if it was the Game of the Year edition? That's similar as Blood and Wine is bigger than a lot of AAA games. They could of offered just the complete edition of Horizon and that would not be classed as 2 games. I guess I can make exception for Lost Legacy as that is a least a standalone.
Its still a great deal - although GTSport and Wipeout wouldn't be my first choices. Uncharted 4 and Nathan Drake collection would probably have been a 'better' pack - the whole Uncharted and Horizon collection...
i'd call lost legacy a proper game, since it's as long as some of the previous uncharted entries, and can be played without owning any other uncharted game. regardless of how long it is, the frozen wilds is an expansion.
however, lost legacy is a budget price game, as is wipeout, and frozen wilds is an expansion. horizon has been out long enough that it should be easy to find a cheap copy of it (and has been on sale on psn for £25).. so, regardless of the quality of the content being offered, i don't think the overall bundle is that great value. argos were selling the pro for £299 a week or so back, and you could probably find all those games for £100 or so (eg. i've seen wipeout for as low as £12.99)
@Cpt_Price Its not the length - its the principal. Lost Legacy was a DLC and would have been added to Uncharted 4 as such. The Blood and Wine expansion on Witcher 3 is longer than both of these (Lost Legacy and Frozen Wilds) combined yet that is still just a DLC. Like I said, if they had bundled in the Game of the year edition of the Witcher 3, that wouldn't count as 3 games. Same as buying the complete edition of Horizon that is releasing with the DLC added - that too isn't counting as 2 games in one pack. I don't see 'The Frozen Wilds' as a separate game at all. Its a DLC and I don't care if its a couple of hours or adds 100hours to the game its still DLC. I see the old Blood Wolfenstein 'game' as a standalone DLC - even if it combines two DLC packs into 1 essentially. The Lost Legacy is also a Standalone DLC, like the First Light, SR4 - Gat out of Hell.
And I can name more Xbox Exclusives than are in this bundle. Whilst 'some' may be on PC too, They are ONLY available if you sign up to a win10 'xbox' profile and buy from the 'Microsoft store' - the same store that is on Xbox consoles. In fact if you already have an Xbox profile and buy a win10 PC, you can sign in to MS and play MS games on that PC as a 'virtual' Xbox console. After all, the original concept for Xbox was to be a games focused PC in 'console' form. Now MS are basically building in a 'Virtual Xbox' into Win10 PC's for Win10 gamers to play those 'Xbox' games on their virtual Xbox PC's. Its not like any PC gamer has access - just because they have a PC. They still have to have a Xbox profile and buy from the MS digital store so MS benefit because all the PC gamers must have MS OS and buy direct from MS too. If Sony had the main OS for PC's, It would make sense that their 'exclusives' were offered to PC gamers who bought Sony's OS, signed up and created a PS profile to Sony's PSN, and could only buy directly from Sony's store - the same store essentially as on PS4. I really don't see this as a negative - opening up your games to ALL MS gamers whether that's on Hardware built by MS or not. In fact the hardware is often made by the same people that make PC components - AMD APU, Seagate HDD, etc Not sure who makes the Bluray player but I bet Sony get some money from it. MS may assemble these but like a PC, the components can be from various other companies - Sony is the same too. It doesn't always make every component in their hardware either - and some are 'stock' components too. In their A1 OLED TV, the screen is made by LG.
@johncalmc Haha, I came away from that thread nursing a migraine.
@JoeBlogs An Xbox Exclusive is still an 'Exclusive' if you also need a 'virtual' Xbox to play it. Granted you don't need a Microsoft built console to play it but you do need a Microsoft 'Xbox' profile, a Microsoft Win10 OS and buy from the same 'Microsoft' store that's on the Xbox. Its still a Microsoft exclusive and whether you need a 'console' or PC to run it, you need to be a Microsoft customer. Its still a 'Console' exclusive, Still a MS exclusive (can't play it on just any PC) and MS are still catering to their 'customer' base. Why should MS ignore their massive PC users just for the sake of a few more console sales. All that does is make those MS PC users feel left out, ignored etc. It doesn't change the fact that you either need to buy a windows 10 (ie a Microsoft powered) PC or Xbox to play MS games.
Maybe you can afford or have space for a high-end gaming PC but you will still need to give MS money, sign up to MS and buy games directly from MS to play those. Not everyone wants a gaming PC so the Xbox is the only console to play these. If you have a PS4, you will still need to buy a MS powered device to play those 'exclusives'. They are no longer XB1 exclusives but Microsoft exclusives. It doesn't matter to MS where you play but you must have given money to MS - whether that was buying Hardware or Software (like Win10 - some of the money you spend buying a PC if it comes with Windows will go to MS) you are still playing on their 'ecosystem', using their 'servers'. Nier is considered a PS exclusive yet also runs on any PC - far more PC's than Microsoft exclusives run on.
Granted those 5 games are necessary to owning a PS to play and whilst its not 'necessary' to buy an Xbox to play Microsoft exclusives, you still need to buy a Microsoft device to play, join the Microsoft ecosystem etc. Its like 'iTunes' only being an Apple exclusive but you can keep playing your iTunes on a Mobile, iPad etc. Its still exclusive to Apple even if its not limited to just an iPad.
For some people, going out and buying a PC just to play MS exclusives is excessive - considering you can play these on an Xbox console and its a much better fit for their 'under TV' option. I know if I had to buy either a PC or X to get the 4k experience, the X is the cheapest option and sits nicely alongside my Pro. Its still an MS exclusive though and whether you need to buy a Microsoft console is irrelevant - you still need to buy into MS's ecosystem so MS get the 'money' regardless. Whether you want a PS4 and PC or PS4 and Xbox to play all the games (well apart from the Nintendo games) you are still buying into Microsofts ecosystem. There is no way round it, you have to have a 'physical' Microsoft powered device and 'Xbox' profile.
Why should those that invested in a Microsoft powered device miss out on Microsoft published games 'just' because of 'console wars' or to appease those PS fanboys who want to make an argument over 'exclusives'. Regardless they are Microsoft Exclusives now and you need a Microsoft device with a Microsoft profile and if on PC, have to buy from Microsoft if you want to play. They are still exclusive to Microsoft and you need to buy a Microsoft device to play them - it also means that the only console is still the Xbox for these. I am sure MS couldn't care less if you have a Win10PC and sign up to their 'Virtual Xbox' in Win10 to be able to buy and play these - even if you have a PS4. Chances are that if you have a PC or Xbox X, the majority of games will look and run better on their ecosystem. The PS4 can still be nothing more than a device for Sony Exclusives.
I certainly didn't want this to be an argument over 'exclusives' or which console is best etc. The point is that all of the 'Xbox exclusives' are still exclusive to Microsoft and, if Sony had any impact on the PC gaming market, would no doubt offer their 'console' exclusives to their 'Sony' customers on PC. It makes sense to support both areas if you have a sizeable client base. It makes sense to make 2 games for both platforms than just 1 for each. Just because Sony are limited to their games consoles, doesn't mean that MS should limit their games to just a sector of their customers and ignore the rest just to appease 'fan boy' arguments.
A remaster, 2 games and basically a couple of DLC. Not that good a deal.
People always talking about how good it is to have exclusives on consoles. If exclusives are you thing then you will always be a PC gamer there is no comparison.
I believe what Microsoft do with a majority of their games making them avaiable on PC is a good thing. It expands their player base massively. Not sure how much damage it does either to hardware sales. PC gamers and console gamers tend to be seperate. Although some do cross over and own both. Playing some of the xbox games on my PC has made me more aware of the xbox brand.
Poor Xbox One X.
