Hey, Mass Effect: Andromeda really isn't far off now, and if you're struggling to contain your intergalactic excitement, then you may want to keep yourself busy with the 40 minute gameplay video that we've embedded above. Running on PS4 Pro, the sci-fi role-playing release looks the part - although at this point we're still struggling to see past those facial animations.
Visual gripes aside, our reasonably high hopes for Andromeda remain. Going by what we've seen so far, the combat really is a step forward, and - if done right - the exploration side of things could lead to some engrossing space-faring adventure. Again, it's not long until BioWare's latest hits store shelves, so let's at least try to stay positive for now, eh?
How do you think Andromeda looks? Are you hyped? Worried? Turn that conversation wheel in the comments section below.

I hate Ryder's voice. It sounds really kind of raspy and weird to me. Like the VA is trying to do a bad Filthy Frank impression.
IT'S TIME TO STOP!
why'd sony post the video in 60fps when the game only supports 30fps on both ps4 and ps4pro? or was there a last minute bump in frame rate for the pro?
It looks alright but I think I'm gonna wait for a price drop.
Scanning. Scanning is back with a vengeance. Bloody scanning.
Why should we stay positive?
It's a product. They want our money, and what we've seen looks... gross.
I saw Batman with a gun, and decided I was never going to watch Batman VS Superman.
We have every right as consumers to expect a certain level of quality, and since BioWare isn't exactly known for their combat as much as their writing, this level of acting, animation and design is cause for pause.
@TheGZeus Of course, but it'd be foolish to say the game's terrible before having actually played it. By all means we should be cynical, but I'm just saying there's no point in casting final judgement until we've given it a shot.
Animations aside way too many people are treating this game like it's Mass Effect 4 which it isn't. I look at it more as a reboot.
@Constable_What lol play as the female then
@ShogunRok it will be fantastic bioware hasn't produced a bad game imo I liked DAI, ME's etc..
@smythelove I meant the female.
@smythelove
cough*TheOldRepublic*cough
@TheGZeus
Off topic, but Batman with a gun was just a dream sequence/possible future.
If you are the slightest bit interested, I would suggest watching it. I really liked the movie after seeing the Ultimate Cut.
@smythelove I wouldn't say they've made bad games but when I think of DA:O, Baldur's Gate, ME1 & 2, KOTOR, I can't help but feel they've been disappointing lately. I wasn't pleased about ME3 and DA:I was a chore, especially when I go back to play DA:O. They just seem to have lost something. In my opinion anyway.
@FaultyDroid Lol correction I mean on console!
@ShadowofSparta Valid points or our taste just has changed or burnt out or not enough free time lol for me at least
@ShadowofSparta try re-playing BG.
Then try to tell me the narrative has any kind of flow or the combat is even passable.
If my GM dropped a campaign with that level of random.nonsense I'd kill my character.
@ShogunRok I've seen Oblivion's levelling system. I've seen the conversation minigame. I've seen what's behind Oblivion Gates.
I don't want to put money or time into Oblivion. I'd spend two weeks modding the thing alone! Keep in mind, i'm OK with unmodded Morrowind and Daggerfall.
Why should we consider giving BioWare and EA our money when they don't even care about... anything?
Bad writing, bad animations, bad UI, bad AI, bad quests and quest structure...
You can't patch these things.
Everything we've seen, from HOURS of gameplay is atrocious.
May end up buying this. Enjoyed the video. There's more to games than facial animations!
