We've been posting about Gran Turismo Sport's recently released PlayStation 4 beta for a few days now, but most of the footage has come courtesy of compressed livestreams. Finally, a YouTube user has taken the time to whip out their capture card and grab a few minutes of footage running in 1080p at 60 frames-per-second, though. And the results are… Quite incredible to say the least.
Without wanting to sound like a broken record, the lighting is above and beyond anything else on the PS4 right now – it gives the presentation a photo-realistic feel that we're yet to see on the system. Some of the track details are a bit iffy – the grass and trees, for example – but this is a beta so it's possible higher resolution assets may be used in the final release.
The performance, as far as our naked eye can perceive, is close to rock-solid even given the number of cars on the starting grid. And the sound, like we already reported, is vastly improved. So all that's left to touch upon are the physics, which look great as you'd expect. There's still progress to be made here, then, but the game's come a long, long way since it was announced.
One to look forward to for sure.

This is amazing. I can't wait for this to release. I can understand why they did away with the PS3 version. I'm eager to hear about the PS4 Pro enhancements.
@ScreamAimFire99 I saw the PS4 Pro version last year. It looks amazing with HDR enabled as you can imagine with this kind of lighting.
Great lighting doesn't make up for boring gameplay
::goes back to Trackmania Turbo::
@sketchturner Haha.
I really can't wait to see what they have done with the VR section.
I think the AI is the thing I am most worried about. Its barely changed since the first one.
Still the cardboard people though....it's 2017.
If they can't put some life in it, just leave it out.
Yes, you won't notice it when driving, but then as well...leave it out.
I do hope they fix the boring racing itself. Forza has written a next chapter in that book years ago, and it's time GT went with it.
Oh, and please for the love of God no more endless clicking in menu's for customization or to start a race!
So will it actually play as good as it looks, or is it the same boring grindy slog as usual ?
Because Gran Turismo has been the jrpg of racing games for 2 decades now.
And its usually about as " fun" as doing the dishes.
At least I don't have to spend 500 hours on that.
Third person?! Blasphemy.
@Neolit Haha!
I wonder if it will be as good as DriveClub. I think it will definately be Sony's big christmas exclusive this year.
Game looks stunning but the actual racing looks as dull as I remember on previous games, though these days I guess most of the racing will be done online anyway
livestream and youtube uploads are both compressed though sammy :/
